A/N: idk if yall gonna hate me after this... it's very likely though :) (nothing bad, dw)

(Marci's POV)
----------

"You ready to go, Tasha?" I ask her, heading towards the door for our date.
"Yep, let's go Mar," she pulls her other sneaker onto her foot.

Leading her out the door, we head over to my car, me opening the door for her. She kisses my lips gently in appreciation, smiling. I walk over to the driver's side, getting in the car myself.

"Where are we going?" she asks me.
"That's for me to know and you to find out," I tease her, pulling out of the driveway.

I've always wanted to take Natasha to a place where it could be just us, in the silence, enjoying each other's company. It's hard to go out, people recognize you everywhere, and we don't need anything else against us. To everyone's knowledge, we're a business partner and second-in-command to Wanda Maximoff. Someone is bound to twist it into we're conspiring something.

It's a little after what people call rush hour, so there's not many people out on the roads, which is nice. I glance over at her a few times, usually catching her staring back at me. We don't need to talk, there's no words need to be said.

I take one of my hands off the wheel, taking hers in mine instead. I rub my thumb over the top of her hand, resting it on top of my leg. She gently rubs my leg comfortingly, showing me what words could never say.

A few minutes later, she asks me a question. "Are we there yet?"
"You sound like a baby," I comment.
"But I'm your baby," she snaps right back.
"Yes you are, and always will be."
"I want an answer to my question still, though."
"We're almost there," I confirm, pulling off to what looks like an off road that's been abandoned.

The road is made up of gravel and overgrown weeds on the sides, like a forest. Trees also overhang the road, secluding any sunlight that may get through. You can hear a few birds here and there, with the windows down too.

"Plotting to kill me or something?" Natasha chuckles a little looking at her surroundings.
I pretend to act hurt. "You think I would do that to you?"
"By the looks of it, it's a 50/50 shot," she plays along, me not being able to hold back a smile anymore.
"Another minute," I say, knowing that we're close to the destination.

We take in the surroundings on the drive, and personally, I know it's just going to get better. Sure, the road may be a bit bumpy to get there, but the end is worth it. Sounds a bit like life.

Finally, I can see the opening ahead in the trees, and the grass beyond that.
"See, here," I point towards the opening coming closer to us.
"I do," she squints to see if there's anything beyond.

Pulling up through the opening, the bench with a small lake planted in the middle of the plot comes into view.

"Woah, this is beautiful," Natasha puts her hands over her mouth at the sight.
"Hmhmm, I've been wanting to take you here for a while now, I come here when I just need to breathe."
"I can see why," she gets out of the car as I park off to the side.

I pull the food that I packed before hand, and lead us over to the benches.
"I don't know if I've ever done a picnic," Natasha tells me.
"Well, here's to firsts," I take her hand and pull her into me. She rests her head on my shoulder, me holding her there.

Reaching the bench, we sit down next to each other, the basket at our feet. Per my luck, there's a slight breeze, so that makes all of this so much better.

"Who knows about this spot?" she questions me, breathing in the fresh air.

"No one that I know of," I start. "Just me and you."
"Well, none of your childhood friends?"
"Nope," I say, seeing what she was getting at.

We start eating the sandwiches, and drinking the wine I brought. It's a nice little setup, a glorified picnic minus the camping because I'm not getting eaten by some wild animal.

For a few minutes, we go back to resting our heads on each other, I've wrapped my arm around her back to hold her close again. She cuddles into me, taking in the surroundings.

"Look! A fish jumped!" she points towards the lake.
"Woah!" I let out a little laugh, also partially because she didn't experience these things as a child.
At least I'm the one to show her.

A while later, like all benches do, they start to get uncomfortable so we stand up, ready to head back to the car. What Natasha doesn't know is that I have another little something planned out for us.

"I don't wanna leave," she whines like a child.
"Don't worry, we're not," I break the next part.
"Huh?" she looks at me in shock, not believing me.
"Look," I point back over the lake, where we can see the sun setting, the sky lighting up in beautiful colors. "We're gonna watch that," I tell her, to which she can only smile.
"Come on," I guide her to the car. She gets in, confused.

"I'm just moving it," I reassure her, pulling the car closer to the lake so we can have a clearer view of the opening in the trees above.
"Ok now actually come on," I get back out, going into the backseat to grab the pillows and blankets I had brought with us.
"Why move the car?"
"Oh because we're sitting there," I point up towards the roof of the car.
"How are we gonna get there?"
"I personally use the tires and the rail to pull myself up, but there's other ways," I throw the stuff to the roof before getting up to the roof myself.

I look back down to her, looking confused back. I don't blame her, I would be to.
"I'm here for you," I reach my hand down so she can hold onto it once she's on the tire.
She places her other hand on the railing, stepping on top of the tire so she can fully lift herself up.

Once she gets up, she helps me spread out the blanket and the pillows at the head. We finally rest and lay down, watching the sky above us. I put some soft romantic music on low volume, as if it's in another room.

"It's so pretty," she comments, reaching her hand up to trace outlines of clouds.
"It is," I reply, looking over at her. "Just like you," I add.
She looks over, smiling. Once again, I pull her in for a kiss, not ever wanting to let her go.

"You know I love this, watching the stars," she says just above a whisper.
"I know,"  I reply back, in a comforting way. "I know we don't often get to do things we love, so I did this, because I knew it would be special," I hesitated a little, Natasha noticing this.

"Are you ok?" She asks in worry.
"I'm perfect," I smile.
She sees right through me, "But there's something you want to say, isn't there?"
"Yes," I let out a little laugh, pushing some stray hairs behind her ear. "Will you, Natasha Romanoff, be my girlfriend?"
"Yes."
"Yes?" I question, not knowing what I was actually expecting.
"Yes," she reassures me, letting out a little chuckle. This time, she's the one to pull me in.
