Signy paced back and forth before Heimdall as his all-seeing eye searched the cosmos for her brothers

Signy paced back and forth before Heimdall as his all-seeing eye searched the cosmos for her brothers. Idiots, she thought bitterly.

"Well? Do you see them?" she asked as her thumbnail lodged itself between her teeth anxiously.

"I found them, Princess," Heimdall reported.

"Please, Heimdall, what is with the sudden formalities?" she said, though her question was answered only a moment later.

"Any news, Daughter?" Odin questioned from where he'd appeared behind Signy's shoulder.

She steeled her features and corrected her posture before she turned towards him with a dignified expression. "Yes, Father. Report your findings, Heimdall."

"They are on Midgard, Your Highnesses. Thor has found that Loki is, in fact... alive," Heimdall said.

Signy watched disappointment cloud her father's features. "What? You're surprised?" she snarked. Loki, though he believed himself highly intelligent and sneaky, was nothing if not predictable. That is, when one paid close attention. And Signy was always one of few who truly did. She mourned her brother every time he attempted something along these lines, but no matter how many times she would watch him get hurt, she'd always hold out hope that he'd return to her soon enough.

"I will send a ship to retrieve them, then," Odin said.

"Don't bother, Father. I'm sure Thor's got it handled. I'll make sure of it myself. Heimdall, send me to their location." She didn't wait for a response from her father and king, only confidently sauntering towards her all-seeing friend.

"Signy, halt," he ordered. She did, though she refused to face him and reveal the air of frustration dusting her features. "You always insert yourself into their disagreements, Daughter. No matter how grand. If Thor's safety is at stake, I need a contingency here on Asgard."

Signy slowly turned back towards her father as she understood his meaning. If Thor died, the second heir would take over the throne. If they both died, that would be his biggest qualm. "If Thor's safety is at stake, my concerns are larger than the goddamn crown."

With that, Heimdall followed her wishes in sending her down to Midgard, leaving Odin with anger of his own.

Thor stood at the windows of the Helicarrier, looking out at a sea of pouring rain. He sighed heavily, turned away, and ran both hands through his long, golden hair. "What's up, Point Break?" Tony asked, looking up from where he stood beside Bruce. "Your brother with the lightning and now you with the rain?"

"Well, Loki was right to be nervous, wasn't he?" Thor began. He would never admit it but some part of him was scared of Signy. She could be as vicious as Loki, sometimes more so, in the heat of frustration. "You'll do well to not mock my worry. Signy's wrath is even more concerning than my own." With that, the god of thunder strutted from the room.
