Chapter 18

Author's POV

"Are you alive ?", said Pooravi from the other side as soon as she picked up the call.

"Yes, I am", Tanu answered with the same sentiment while strolling in the balcony.

"Oh! I thought i am going to eat your jalebis instead of your friend's marriage sweets"

Tanu hissed, "I am saary (sorry) babes. Jalebian, oh v meriya! Tere naseeb ch inni cheti kithe (Jalebis, that too mine! It's not in your fate so soon) I am never going to leave you"

"That hurts!!! Even i am not gonna leave you". Both grinned.

"How's our project research going?", asked Tanu after talking for a while.

"Nothing is showing up. We are doing this for almost a year with no result. It is so frustrating! And things with Jugnu are not good", Said Pooravi. They are a part of a researching team.

"Have patience girl. These aren't the things we can achieve in a short period of time. We have to be patient"

"I know, right but i wanna bang my head in the wall!!!"

"Yes, go and do it in front of your Jugnu's lab. Don't worry, I will take you to the hospital. And I don't want to come back and listen his taunts alone"

"Like he never taunts me every second"

"Seriously bruh, he got more attitude than our team leader. Sir is so nice and supportive"

They were gossiping and on the other side, Sourabh was working on his laptop near the swimming pool. It was night but it was light like a day.

People were enjoying their night time by the pool. The glowing full moon was giving a good view. There was a cool breeze.

But he was unable to enjoy the peace due to an urgent call from his work place in London.

As he was working, he felt someone approaching him. He immediately shut down the device.

"Sourabh, is it you?", He looked up to see a mixed- race girl with hazel eyes.

"Aishwarya! It's been a long time", He shook her hand. Aishwarya Edwards was his university friend in London.

"Yup! How are you here?", she asked him in her british accent. He answered and asked her the same.

"I am here for a vacation", she replied. They chit chat for a while before returning in his room.

Meanwhile, Ritika enters the elevator watching her favourite K-drama without any news around. She noticed a pair of shoes entering behind her.

All of sudden, the lift stopped working and the lights kept on flickering until they went completely off. Due to this, both the people in the lift felt a surge of anxiety.

"Oh my god!!! We got stuck here. What will happen now?", Ritika panicked.

"Hey, don't worry. Nothing will happen. Just calm down", The person tried to calm her down as he took out his phone. He saw that there was no network.

"There must be an alarm. Let's see", he said, turning on his phone's flashlight, which went off right after it was on. He cursed and asked Ritika to turn on the flashlight of her phone. She turned it on that fell directly on his face. He reflexively held his hand in front of his face to block the light from entering his eyes.

"Hey, woman. Not in my eyes!"

"Oops! Sorry", saying she moved away her phone. Somehow she saw something which shocked her. The flying eagle tatoo on the back of his neck which belonged to that person. He had the same tatoo at the exact same place. Was it a coincidence?!
