Chapter 10: A Phantom in the Shadows

As Mitchell's consciousness starts to flicker from black to white he would see glimpses of his life, flashing before his eyes.

He tries to reach out to the glimpses of the past with his hand, but as he reached his arm as far as he could everything turned to black.

A cold sensation would be felt all throughout his body.

His eyes feeling heavy while trying to close them, he could not be able to, he tries to feel the fingers of his hands, but would not feel something but nothing all together.

He'd feel a piercing pain through his left arm, as if his limb was still there.

He tries to speak but only air would exhaled from his mouth.

Another piercing pain would be felt behind his head and his left hand??

He can feel his left hand, he tries so hard to even move even a finger but nothing would happen.

In the darkness a very delicate and feminine voice would be heard from the darkness, calling out something but he can't seem to properly hear it.

Knowing he cannot move from his current predicament, he continues to struggle to find out what that voice is saying and who was the one that spoke.

Just as Mitchell was trying to move a small light would be seen from a distance and a shadowy figure would be standing below the light, and would come closer to him..

The shadowy stopped just a few meters away from him and in its hand would appear a Desert Eagle.

At the Helipad of Victoria's Base.

A Blackhawk would arrive and would land on one of the Helipads, and immediately a group of T-Dolls rush in with a hospital bed to the helipad.

As the doors of the Blackhawk opens, Mitchell would be placed on the bed and would be immediately rushed to the Emergency Room of the Base. HK416, M14 and M200 would be going with his as he was being transported to the Emergency Room.

And as they arrived at the doors of the ER they were barred from entering the room.

M200: The Captain will be fine.. right..?

M14: He's the Captain.. there's no way--
HK416, what do you think?

HK416: ...

M14: Hey.. are you okay?

HK416: I should've stayed with him..

M14: Its not your fault..

M200: Yeah..

HK416: I was second in command, I was supposed to be beside him at all times but I just went straight to the Extraction Point..

M14 would go to her and would put her hand on her shoulder.

M14: You're not the only one that's at fault HK416...

M14: If one of us even fails at something.. that means we all failed together..

M14: But we must learn from our mistakes and continue on towards the future and do what's right!

HK416: Damn it..

M200: I just hope the Captain will be fine..

M14: Yeah.. for all our sakes.

Somewhere inside of Victoria's Base.

Victoria would be on the roof, and would be smoking a cigarette.
