Louis, Zayn, Niall and I sat quietly, listening to Ashley and Sydnee exchange ideas of where to go for their double date tonight. It's been quite a while since they've had time to each other. We've all been together the whole time since college started so I'm pretty surprised they haven't done this earlier.

"How about dinner then movie?" Liam suggest, giving Ashley a smile.

"I say laser tag and pizza" Harry said, as Sydnee laughed.

"So romantic baby" she replied, gently hitting his chest with the back of her hand.

"So I guess dinner and movies it is" Ashley confirmed as they nodded.

"What are you guys doing tonight?" Liam asked, finally acknowledging our existence.

"Well Zayn and I have decided to go to the bar tonight to pick up some ladies" Louis winked as we laughed.

"Trust the Tommo to do that" I stated, playfully punching his arm.

"You know it" he smirked.

"What bar?" Harry asked.

Zayn faced Louis, "some small one, I dunno"

Harry nodded, "fair enough"

"Yeah" Louis smiled.

"So what are you two doing tonight then?" Sydnee asked, slightly smirking.

"I dunno, probably sit in my room" I replied, picking grass from the ground.

"Umm, ok then" Ashley giggled, "how about you Niall?"

"Probably the same thing" he answered, pursing his lips.

"Why don't you guys do something together then?" Liam asked, raising an eyebrow. Obviously none of them know about the awkward encounters Niall and I have been having lately, except Sydnee but she only saw it once and we never talked about it again.

"Nah" I smiled, lifting me head up before lowering it again.

"Why not?" Harry asked, "I mean you guys have nothing better to do and you're best friends so?"

"Yeah, exactly" Louis tilted his head.

"Well... I have like homework to do and stuff" I lied.

Niall faced me, "I don't and we're in the same lecture"

Shit. Think Tabitha, think!

"Umm, it's just like yeah, I have something to get done and stuff so yeah, it's like, just yeah..." I stuttered awkwardly. Wow, I sound like a bitch...

"Maybe he could help you" Ashley said as Sydnee kept quiet, understanding why I don't want to hang out with him.

"Yeah" Liam agreed.

"Nah, it's like fine, I'm fine by myself" I answered forcing a kind smile. I looked at Niall, hurt in his eyes. What am I doing? Why am I being a total ass bitch to my best friend? I'm hurting his feelings... That's not what friends are supposed to do.

"Well it's up to you" Ashley shrugged, leaning back a bit into Liam's chest.

"Umm, maybe I do need help" I said as Niall looked up in surprise.

Tabitha, what are you doing?

I smiled, "I mean, yeah, I guess company would be nice. So what time do you wanna come over?"

"Umm" Niall said, sitting up straight again, "just when they leave?"

"Yeah, sounds good"

"Yeah" he replied.

"So it's settled for tonight?" Sydnee said, clapping her hands three times.

"Yep, sorted" Louis replied, hi-fiving Zayn.

I looked up from my laptop, awkwardly staring over at Niall who was sitting silently on Sydnee's desk chair. Ten years of this friendship and this night would be ranked number one on awkwardness. I shut my laptop, catching Niall's attention.

"Do you wanna like, order some pizza and watch a movie?" I asked.

"Yeah" he smiled. Oh my god, that smile. That amazing smile. Wait, what? You did not just say that... No, no, no. Best friends for life.

I got up, walking over to my desk to collect my phone. I grabbed it and typed in the number of the pizza place and called it.

I put my phone down after ordering and turned to face Niall, who was already staring at me. He blushed, shyly looking away as he realized he just got caught.

"So umm, what movie?" I asked, leaning against my white desk.

"Whatever you want" he replied, shifting in his chair.

"Nah, you choose"

"You choose"

"You choose" I smirked, knowing where this is heading.

He got up, "you choose"

"No you"

"No, you choose"

"You choose" he said again, slowly walking over to me.

"You choose"

"You"

"No, you"

"You choose" he repeated, putting both hands on either sides of me on the desk, leaning forward, against it. I looked into his crystal blue eyes, mesmerized in how amazing he is. How come I never noticed?

"You choose" I almost whispered.

"What I want, doesn't want me" he answered, glancing at my lips.

Oh my god! Kiss me already!

I lifted my arms, wrapping them around his neck, slightly pulling him closer. I closed my eyes, ready for it.

"Pizza guy!" a voice from the other side of the door called as Knocks were made. They make pizzas that fast?

"Yeah, a pat on the back for my best friend" I said, patting his back before heading towards the door.

What just happened? Another awkward encounter... But this time... I, I, I don't know... Why is it every time I look into his eyes I always feel this way? I've never felt like this before, it's like I'm slowly falling for him, but that can't be. No way would I be falling for him, no way ever! Even if I did like him, I can't date him... He's my best friend, he's practically my brother. I can't ruin this friendship, it practically means the world to me. What if we break up? Then we would hate each other and we wouldn't talk anymore. I would never let that happen, ever. I can't date Niall, I can't. But it's not like he would date me...

Sorry I haven't been updating as regularly as usual. I've been so busy since school started and there's always so much to do :/ ugh stupid school. Anyway, I hope you like the chapter (: just hang in there, hehe. It's fun watching you guys freak over them getting together (; aha, there's still much to go, don't worry..
