Chapter 18

Niall's Pov

I scrolled through my laptop, liking interesting posts on Facebook. Just another boring Thursday night. I sang along to 'Baby' as the rain pitter pattered on my window. I pulled down the sleeves of my jumper, warming my fore arms. I stopped singing as I grabbed my phone from beside me. I smiled as I read the text.

From: Tabby

"Niall :( it's raining, I'm cold and bored. Come over? Please? x"

I typed my reply, biting my lip, trying to stop my growing smile.

To: Tabby

"Will be there in a minute xx"

I got up and dug through my wardrobe, looking for some jeans I could wear. I looked down at the pants I was wearing now. Eh, elephant PJ pants will do, it's not like it's the first time she's seen me like this.

I grabbed my phone and walked outside into the chilly breeze. It wasn't too cold but it was enough to give me goosebumps.

I walked to Tabitha and Sydnee's room and knocked. I waited for a minute before the door flung opened, revealing one very beautiful Tabitha.

She pulled her long, straight, light brown hair onto one shoulder, the strands reaching to mid stomach. I watched as her blue-green orbs looked into mine, a comfortable silence over us.

"Hi" she finally spoke, smiling, cute dimples indented into her cheeks.

"Hey" I replied, nervously. She grabbed my hand and pulled me inside and close the door. She gave me a long unusual hug, sending butterflies into my stomach. Every time our skin comes in contact, I feel warm inside. It's a feeling I've never had with any other girl.

She let go, pursing her delicate lips. She walked over to the TV and turned it on.

"Movies in bed on a rainy day?" she asked as I nodded, slightly blushing.

Does that mean we get to cuddle? No, no it doesn't. Obviously not, this isn't the first time we've done movies in bed. It's always been a friend thing, what makes you think it won't be this time? She won't like me, in her eyes we're just best friends...

We settled onto the bed as the movie started. "What movie?" I asked.

She smiled, "the notebook"

"Aww, no. This is gonna make me cry" I said truthfully.

"Man up pussy shit" she laughed. I stuck my tongue out as she playfully hit my chest. She leaned closer to me, the back of her head resting on my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around her tightly, her warmth sending tingles down my spine. She smiled as she nuzzled her face into my chest. I ran my fingers through her hair as she stared into the TV.

This feels so right. It's like it's meant to be, it's amazing. I've never felt so good before. Yes, it's not the first time we've done this but it's always been a friend thing in our eyes. Not to me anymore... She still thinks it's a friend thing I guess, I just wish it wasn't. Have you ever been in love with someone, but have them not love you back? It hurts... And having the little actions they do, make you excited and happy? Well this is how I feel. Everything she does makes me happy or excited but I know she doesn't feel the same way...

I just want her to be mine, so I can show her how it feels to be treated like a princess. I will love her more than any other boy has ever loved her and I will treasure her like a diamond. I love her, I really do. I just need a chance to show her how I feel and spill my heart out, but I can't. I can't risk this friendship, not when she doesn't feel the same...

Best friends, that's all that is, right?

Tabitha's Pov

I woke up, a body next to mine. I opened my eyes as the familiar face became clearer in view. I smiled as I ran my fingers through his messy blonde hair. He's so peaceful and cute when he's asleep. I blushed as I realized his arms were wrapped right around my waist, it's not that I mind... My fingers brushed over his soft cheek, before leaving a kiss to it. I wiggled out of my bed, making sure I don't wake Niall up.

I grabbed my towel and a new set of under wear and tiptoed outside into the hallway. I smiled as I remembered falling asleep in his arms. How he would run his fingers through my hair occasionally. He's so perfect, in every way possible. We've done this before, but it's never been like this. I feel safe and warm in his arms. It's amazing. I like him, but I know he only sees me as a best friend or a sister... It kinda hurts to think that. But even if he did like me, I don't want to break this friendship, this friendship is my life. I don't want to kill it just because of a relationship, I mean, it might not even work out. I can't let anything happen to this friendship... But I want him to be mine...

I entered the bathroom and turned the water on in the shower. I set my clothes on the bench and began to strip. I stood under the heated water, relaxation spreading through my body. I washed myself then got out. I redressed and headed towards the room again, excited to see the boy I'm slowly falling for, I think... I opened the door, a smile on my face.

"Tabitha" Sydnee said as I looked around the room. Everyone's here... It's not that I don't like their company it's just that, I wanted to be with Niall, just him for a little while. But, oh well.

"That was the most boring shit I've heard in ages" Sydnee said as Niall, Ashley, Zayn, Sydnee and I walked out of lecture and into the café to meet the rest.

"One hundred percent, agreed" I replied, sitting down. Niall sat beside me as everyone else sat opposite to us. I looked at Niall, who was already looking at me. He blushed and quickly turned away. He's so cute!

"What do you guys wanna get?" Ashley asked as she lifted the menu up.

"Hot chocolate" Niall and I replied in sync.

Zayn laughed, "yeah, hot chocolate"

"Same with me" Ashley smiled, "what about you Syd?"

"Iced chocolate" she answered.

"It's bloody four degrease and you want iced chocolate?" I raised an eye brow.

"Exactly" she laughed. Oh, what a special girl...

The rest arrived and we finally got our drinks. The café was warm and quiet with little conversations going on around the few tables inside. I looked up at the door as I heard the bell on the café door ring. Sydnee's face grimaced at the sight as everyone's faces stared blankly at the couple. There, next to the door was Jacob and apparently a new girl, actually, the same girl he cheated on me for.

I watched in disgust as they say down at a small table. He hasn't seen us yet and was continuing rubbing his pervert hand up the poor girl's thigh.

"Yuck" Sydnee stated as they snogged each other's faces off.

"Agreed" Liam said.

I continued staring at the couple eating each other's faces. I have a thing of hating my exes (don't worry I don't hate Zayn, that was completely my fault, he's one of my closest friends now) and Jacob is definitely one of them. I felt a soft hand land on top of mine. I gazed up and met Niall's crystal blue orbs. I entwined our fingers together as my heart felt pain. It's not that I still like Jacob, I don't, I hate him. It's just, I don't like what I'm seeing. He said he was sorry, but he really isn't... He's with the girl he cheated on me with... Ugh, I hate him.
