—Katherine's POV—
I was walking along the pathway, Paradise by Coldplay blasting in my ears at full volume. School was just boring as always and to my surprise Asher wasn't seen anywhere in the school. Now that is what I never imagined. Sure Asher was the popular freak and the girls just couldn't live without him.
It was the fact that his goofy personality was what I was missing. His constant annoyingness, his lame jokes, his cheeky pick-up lines. Ughh!
I never knew that one day without him would be so boring. Oli wasn't also coming to school from the past few days, which made me wonder where did he disappear. We haven't been in contact for a few days so it means that he's busy with something.
Thankfully I arrived home and to say I was exhausted would be an understatement. As soon as I closed the door, I heard the bickering between my sisters. A smile carved my lips as I imagined how the scene would be.
Mom was upstairs in her room typing furiously on her laptop. I stood by the door and before I could knock, she lifted her head and our eyes met. After the episode of my father re-entering our lives, mom and me have become closer than before.
A smile was on her face when she saw I was standing there. "Hey sweetie. How was school?"
I went and sat beside her and said, "School was same old mom. Although Asher didn't grace us with his presence today, which was kind of odd."
Mom let out a hearty chuckle which made me frown in confusion. Did I tell her a joke or something?
"Oh honey, sometimes you're so forgetful. Asher's taking you out today so he must be busy planning something for you."
As soon as she said that, my eyes widened when I realized that yesterday he had asked mom's permission to take me out for the day. God I'm such a forgetful person.
"Great! I completely forgot about it."
I ran out of her room and bolted straight for my room, my mother's laughter echoing in the air. I checked the time on my watch and if possible, my eyes widened more. It was freaking 3:30! That little pickle head said he'll pick me up around 5ish.
As I was going to my room, I heard one of the twins, probably Rachael talking to her Barbie dolls. Her room was slightly open. She was sitting in the middle of her room with her dolls scattered around her. Rebecca was nowhere in sight.
I smiled at my little sister. Yes, she could be a pain in the ass but she was adorable! Gets the adorable-ness from me of course. Jeez, stop with the egoism Katherine.
I was about to leave when her words made me freeze. "Sally my daddy said he'll bring me chocolates tonight. He even said that he'll get me a pink tutu with a wand."
I shook my head and went to my room. Rachael must be pretending with her dolls. There's no way the twins know about our daddy dearest's surprise visit. Hopefully not.
