Chapter 8: Argument

Y/N's POV

The three of us are now scanning for the cube and Tony has just broken into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secure files.

Tony and I are sitting on the work table looking through the files as Fury walks into the lab.

Nick: What are you doing, Mr. Stark?

Tony: Uh, kind of been wondering the same thing about you.

Nick: You three are supposed to be locating the tesseract.

Bruce: We are. The model's locked and we're sweeping the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within the mile.

Bruce then points to the computer screen behind Fury.

Tony: Yeah, then you get your cube back. No, muss, no fuss.

Then Tony and I see a file that says Phase 2.

Y/N: So, Nick, What is PHASE 2?

Then a thud on the table causes the four of us to turn around and we see Steve has a weapon on the table and he looks pissed.

Steve: PHASE 2 is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons.

Steve looks at Tony.

Steve: Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow.

Nick: Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're...

Then I stand up and walk over and turn the computer screen.

Y/N: I'm sorry, Nick. What were you lying?

Steve: I was wrong, director. The world hasn't changed a bit.

Then I see Peggy, Natasha and Thor walk into the lab.

Y/N: Did you know about this?

Peggy: No, I promise.

Natasha then looks at Bruce.

Natasha: You wanna think about removing yourself from this environment, doctor?

Bruce: I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed.

Natasha: Loki's manipulating you.

Bruce: And you've been doing what exactly?

Natasha: You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you.

Bruce: Yes, and I'm not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.

Nick: Because of him.

Fury points at Thor.

Thor: Me?

Nick: Last year earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town. We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned.

Thor: My people want nothing but peace with your planet.

Nick: But you're not the only people out there, are you? And, you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled.

Steve: Like you controlled the cube?

Thor: You're work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war.

Steve: A higher form?

Nick: You forced our hand. We had to come up with something.

Tony: Nuclear deterrent. Cause that always calms everything right down.

Nick turns to Tony.

Nick: Remind me again how you made your fortune, Stark?

Steve: I'm sure if he still made weapons, Stark would've neck deep...

Tony: Wait! Wait! Hold on! How is this now about me?

Steve: I'm sorry, isn't everything?

As everyone argues, I hearing a ringing in my head. I turn around to scepter and I look at it.

Then suddenly I find myself flying through space and I seen different colored stones. One was green, one was red, one was yellow, one was blue, one was orange, the last one was purple.

Then suddenly I'm standing in the middle of a field as I see a purple figure with a gauntlet and then suddenly there was a bright light.

Then suddenly I find myself standing with five others but they were blurry and then I find myself back in reality and I was breathing heavily as I look at everyone.

Steve: L/N, put the scepter down.

I then look down and see that I was holding the scepter.

A beep echoed the room as I placed the scepter down and walk with Bruce over to the computer.

Thor: You located the tesseract.

Tony: I could get there fastest.

Thor: The tesseract belongs on Asgard. No human is a match for it.

Then as Bruce and I continued to look at the computer our eyes widen.

Bruce: Oh my god.

Y/N: Everyone get.....!

My spider sense then goes off rapidly as there's a large explosion as I go flying into the wall and I hit the ground and black out.
