Chapter 75: I Am Spider-Man

Y/N's POV

After the explosion I get up and see Thor and Steve fighting against Thanos for the gauntlet.

I rush in to help Cap and Thor but after a few seconds, he shakes us off and I land on the ground.

After a minute I get on my knees and see Carol get knocked down as Thanos has used the power stone against her.

I turn my attention away from Thanos and see Doctor Strange and he was looking at me.

Doctor Strange then raises up two fingers.

(Imagine strange is holding up two fingers.)

I then remember Tony telling me Strange said there was two ways this ends.

I look down at Tony who was on the ground and I came to a realization.

It was either Tony or myself. One of us had to die in order to defeat Thanos.

I realize now that it can't be Tony. Tony has worked so hard to get his happy ending with Pepper. And now he has Morgan. He got his happy ending.

But I also realize that this is why I had nightmares for five years. It was the universes way of telling me what I needed to do.

I knew that Thanos was wrong, it wasn't my fault. This was the moment I knew that for five years I blamed myself for something that wasn't my fault.

But I also knew that I couldn't be selfish, I couldn't put my family before Tony's. That's not the way of a hero.

I look around at the battlefield and I see all the chaos ensuing.

I look at Peggy who was fighting alongside Steve and Natasha and I knew that she'll be okay.

I knew that Laura will be okay because she has the best mother any daughter could ask for.

I breathe heavily as I know what I must do.

I get up and charge at Thanos and I grab ahold of the gauntlet.

I struggle against him for a moment but manage to get the Stones from the gauntlet.

Thanos then knocks me down.

Third Person Perspective

After shaking off Y/N, Thanos raises his hand and he looks over at Spider-Man.

Thanos: Don't you see, L/N? I am...Inevitable.
