Chapter 23: Taskmaster

Y/N's POV

As I'm taking down the HYDRA agents I jump into the air and web zip and I kick down a group of HYDRA agents flying back.

Then Maria comes over the comms.

Maria: You've got 8 minutes guys.

Y/N: Yeah we're working on it.

I rush towards the targeting room and I go inside while Steve deals with HYDRA outside.

Then when I'm inside I go over to the targeting blades that were already there.

I open the thing up and switch the targeting blades out.

Y/N: Alpha locked.

Maria: One down, Falcon, where are you?

Sam: Had to take a detour!

I then head back out to see Cap and Peggy taking the HYDRA agents down.

I go over to them.

Peggy: Y/N, you okay?

Y/N: I'm good.

Steve: Let's move.

Then after a few minutes of fighting we hear Sam come over the comms.

Sam: Bravo locked.

Then we continue running, Sam catches Steve while I web swing with Peggy.

Steve was then thrown back by the winter soldier so I land Peggy and I down to him.

I then help Steve get up and Sam comes over the comms.

Sam: Guys, I'm done. Suits done.

Steve: It's alright Sam.

Then Steve, Peggy and I continue running.

As the two of us are running, someone drops down and lands in a kneeled position in front of us.

When the person looks up I see that it's Taskmaster.

Y/N: Taskmaster. I should've known you were involved.

Steve: You know this person.

Y/N: He's the first challenge I ever faced as Spider-Man. You go, I'll handle him.

Steve: Are you sure?

Y/N: Yeah. I'm sure.

Steve: All right.

Peggy: Y/N....

Y/N: It's okay, Peggy. I'll be all right.

Peggy: Okay.

Steve and Peggy then head past Taskmaster as he looks at me.

Taskmaster: Ah, Spider-Man. We meet again.

Y/N: I guess so.

Taskmaster: How are you?

Y/N: Ah, you know. Life and all that.

Taskmaster: That I know.

Taskmaster throws his shield at me but I duck under it.

I run at him and start throwing punches but of course he counters my punches.

He kicks me and I stumble backwards.

He runs at me and I try to close line him but he goes under my arm and then kicks me in the back and I fall to the ground.

Taskmaster: You always were weak, Spider-Man. But no matter. I shall do to you what I've done to so many others.

I stand up and shake my head.

Y/N: And Rhino says I talk to much.

I shoot a web at him but he grabs it.

Y/N: Uh-oh.

He pulls me toward him and uppercuts me and I flip as he grabs ahold of me and slams me down.

Y/N: Ow....

He grabs me by my suit and starts dragging me, I web the wall and pull, he let's go of me.

Taskmaster: Gah, it's time to die Spider-Man.

Y/N: All the times I've heard that.

I stand up and run at him and we continue to fight though he mimicks my attacks.

We then make our way inside as we fight.

(Five Minutes Later)

So Taskmaster and I are still fighting but he's winning as I can't seem to get an opening.

After he takes me down, I stand up and run at him but he throws me through the double doors and I roll on the ground.

Y/N: Come on. How did I do this the first time?

I remember what I did the first time we fought.

Y/N: That's it. Mind go blank.

I stand up as Taskmaster walks inside.

Taskmaster: Ready for more?

Y/N: Yep.

I look around and then I run at him and go under his legs I shoot a web at the ceiling and lift myself over him and I kick him in the face.

I land on the ground and then run against the wall and I web his leg and then web the ceiling and pull and he slips.

I land on the ground again as I pull him up to the ceiling and he's hanging.

Taskmaster: How...?

Y/N: Didn't see that coming did you?

Taskmaster rips the web and falls to the ground but before he can stand up I round house kick him.

Then I hear Maria come through comms so I turn around.

Maria: Y/N, get to Fury and Romanoff in Pierces office.

Y/N: On my way, just gotta deal with...

I turn around and see Taskmaster is gone.

Maria: Who?

Y/N: Uh...no one. On my way.

Then I head to Pierces office to help Nick and Natasha.
