Chapter 24: A Lead

Nick's POV

Natasha, Pierce and I look out the window and see the Insight helicarriers shooting each other down.

Pierce: What a waste.

Natasha: So, you still unsure of Rogers' and Carter's chances?

Pierce: Time to go, council woman. Come on. You can fly me out of here.

Nick Fury: You know, there was a time I would have taken a bullet for you.

Pierce: You already have Nick.

Then we see Natasha get electrocuted and fall to the ground.

This causes Pierce to get distracted, so I grab a gun and put two bullets in his chest.

Y/N's POV

When I make it to Pierce's office I see Pierce dead on the floor and I also see Natasha on the floor.

After a few seconds she looks up at me.

Natasha: Those really do sting.

I chuckle as I turn to see Nick.

Nick: You're late.

Y/N: Sorry.

I go over and help Natasha stand up.

Nick: Lets go.

The three of us then head to the chopper.

Once we start flying in the chopper, Natasha contacts Sam.

Natasha: Sam, where are you?

Sam: 41st floor, northwest corner.

Natasha: Okay, we're on it. Stay where you are.

Sam: Not an option!!

I then see Sam jump out the window and I manage to catch him.

Y/N: You good?

Sam: Yeah. Thanks.

Sam turns to Fury.

Sam: 41st floor! 41st!

Nick Fury: It's not like they put the floor numbers on the side of the damn building!

Natasha then gets on the comms to Hill.

Natasha: Hill, where's Steve and Peggy? Do you have a location on them?

After this we then start looking for Peggy and Steve and we see them by the river.

Y/N: Fury! I found them! Down there!

The other's look down and see them both.

Nick Fury: I see them!

Nick flies down there, then Nat, Sam and I get out of the chopper.

As Natasha and Sam run to Steve, I run over to Peggy and grab ahold of her and she was unconscious.

After a minute we then bring them onto the chopper.

(Two Days Later)

So it's been two days since everything happened with HYDRA, Steve and Peggy are in the hospital as they are in coma like states.

I'm now sitting in Peggy's room as I haven't left her side.

As I'm looking down, I feel a touch on my hand and I look up and see Peggy is awake.

Y/N: Hey.

Peggy: Hi. How long was I out?

Y/N: Two days.

Peggy: And you stayed here?

Y/N: Of course. I didn't wanna leave your side.

Peggy: That's sweet of you, Y/N.

Y/N: Well it's because I...

Peggy: You what?

I smile.

Y/N: I'm glad you're okay. How'd you get out of there anyways?

Peggy: Bucky. He saved Steve and I.

Y/N: He did?

Peggy: Yeah. He's still in there.

Y/N: It seems like it.

Peggy: Thank you for staying, Y/N.

Y/N: I'm not going anywhere.

Peggy smiles.

Peggy: Would you lay with me? Just for a little bit.

Y/N: Of course.

I get in the bed and wrap my arms around Peggy.

She lays her head on my shoulder.

(One Week Later)

So after Steve and Peggy got out of the hospital Natasha had a meeting with the government and she basically told them to kiss her ass.

Right now, Steve, Peggy, Sam and I are standing in a cemetery looking at the grave of one Nick Fury.

Nick: So, you've experienced this sort of thing before.

Steve: You get used to it.

Nick then looks at us.

Nick: We've been data mining HYDRA's files. Looks like a lot of rats didn't go down with the ship. I'm headed to Europe tonight. Wanted to ask if you two would come with me.

Steve: There's something I have to do first.

Peggy: Same here.

Nick then looks at Sam.

Nick: How about you, Wlison? Could use a man with your abilities.

Sam: I'm more of a soldier than a spy.

Nick: All right, then. L/N, I take it you don't either.

Y/N: Sorry, Nick. I can't.

Nick: All right. Anybody asks for me, tell them they can find me, right here.

Nick then walks away.

Natasha: You should be honored that's the closest he'll ever say to "thank you."

Steve walks over to her and after a minute, they hug.

Natasha then walks away.

Peggy, Sam and I walk over to him and see he has a file.

Sam: So, you are going to look for him huh?

Steve: Yeah.

Peggy: We are.

Steve: Y/N, Sam. You two don't have to come with us.

Sam: Yeah, I know.

Y/N & Sam: So when do we start?

I have a feeling that while we're gonna go looking for Bucky. It's not gonna be easy.
