It's been a while since my birthday. Nothing has been going on really. Changbin and I are fine as ever. He gets cranky here and there if a song doesn't work out but we always work it out. What I'm more worried about is what I'm going to do for next semester. I have to start picking out my classes now. The thing is, I've started to question if business management is really what I want to do with the rest of my life. While Changbin's out pursuing his dream, I'll be stuck in an office watching him succeed. Which, isn't a bad thing. I want him to succeed. There's nothing more I want than that. But sitting in an office for hours and hours at a time isn't my cup of tea.
I've started to like dancing and rapping, but those are more hobbies than anything. There's still nothing I'm exceptionally good at. Hyunjin and Jisung keep telling me I should switch to something that involves fashion. I'm not sure. I want to ask Changbin what he thinks but I know he's busy with finals. I sigh to myself as my head falls onto my desk. I don't even like business management. Honestly, anything could be better. I'm good at it though. It gives me a clear path in life. I wish I could be like my friends and take the risk.
"What's wrong?" I shoot up and look behind me. Changbin is by my bed, placing down his bag. I stand up slowly and walk over to him, my arms falling lazily over his body. Changbin pats my head and asks again what's wrong.
"I think I want to switch my major," I mumble.
"Yeah? To what?"
I shrug. "I don't know. I just know I don't want to be an ordinary man stuck in an office."
"Your right, that doesn't fit you. You don't have anything you might want to pursue?" Changbin wraps me in a tight hug and kisses my cheek.
"Hyunjin and Jisung keep pushing the fashion idea to me but I'm not sure. I like shopping but selling it is different. I can't be a model either. I'm not trained in that area."
"I think if Minho can teach you to dance, and Seungmin can teach you to rap, Hyunjin can probably teach you how to be a model," Changbin says reassuringly.
I shake my head. "You're the one that's gonna be famous someday. I don't want stupid news to come out about how I'm using you to get attention."
Changbin clicks his tongue and sits down, pulling me down on his lap. "You are thinking too much into the future. You also have too much faith in me. Even if I do become famous, you'll still be my top priority. Whatever news makes it out into the world, we'll deal with it then. That's a big if too, Felix. So don't worry about how it will effect me, I can handle it. Just go after what you want."
I nod. The answer won't come to me anytime soon. It's best to just forget about it for now. "How was your day? What'd you do?" I ask.
"We recorded the last song in our demo CD. We are thinking of sending it in to a few companies."
"Isn't that dangerous? What if they steal it?" I mumble, worried that they are being too risky.
"They can't. Well, they can, but it's a stupid move. The demo only has clips of each song. The full songs aren't on the CD. Plus, If they do try and steal it, I'll just sue them with proof it's 3racha's. I have enough eyewitnesses too." Changbin leans back into my bed. I chuckle and stretch out over his chest, pressing a quick kiss on his lips.
"So you guys decided you want to be a group?"
Changbin looks around the ceiling for a few seconds before answering. "No, not really. Honestly, I think we just want to become producers. Jisung may go for a soloist, but that's not exactly up to him. I guess if he declines to be in a boy group than they may try to keep him as a soloist, but I'm not sure. The music industry is fucked up. I just want to make music I can be proud of. I don't care about showing off my talent. I'll let the people that sing my songs take that recognition."
"Mm, so that's why you use a stage name," I say.
"Sort of. Oh, right. Jisung called me earlier and said he wants us all to come to dinner with him. He said we had to go no exceptions."
I groan and hide my face in my boyfriends neck. "Why does he have to be so last minute?"
"Cause he procrastinates," Changbin reminds.
"That's true. Okay. Let's go then. What are we wearing?"We end up just going in what we have on since Jisung didn't say that there is a dress code. We aren't the first to arrive at the pub. It's the same one we used when we celebrated my birthday a month ago. I think it's our new designated hangout place. Hyunjin is the last to arrive. We all talk about how we've been since we've been busy. Time stops for no one.
"So, what have the couples been up to?" Jeongin asks with his usual cheery smile.
I look at Changbin and shrug. "Nothing big has been happening with us," I say. Changbin nods, his arm wrapping around the back of my chair.
Hyunjin raises a brow as if he thinks we are lying. We aren't. I can't think of anything big that has happened that they don't know about.
"Holy shit, Changbin, what the fuck is on your hand," Seungmin chokes on his drink as Jeongin begins to curse.
Everyone looks at Changbin's hand. The one with the promise ring on it. Oh, we didn't tell them about that. I start laughing, shaking my hands in front of my face. "We didn't get hitched. It's a promise ring. He bought them for my birthday," I explain, showing them my ring as well.
"It's so pretty," Seungmin mutters.
"Yeah, it is," Jisung speaks up. He's been quieter than usual.
"What have you two been up to?" Changbin asks the other couple.
Minho rubs the back of his neck, ears growing red. "Actually, that's why we asked you to come," he mutters.
"Please don't tell me you're breaking up," Chris begs with his hands.
Jisung reels back with an upset expression. "Break up? Hell no. We aren't boyfriends anymore though," Jisung sips his drink after he says this.
I can tell he's trying his best to hold back a smile and laugh. I already know what this is about. After all, I am the one who helped Jisung plan it all out. "So that means you broke up," Jeongin starts to sniffle.
"No, we didn't break up Innie. He's just being an annoying brat," Minho nudges his lover in the side with a glare.
"But you love me," Jisung grins when Minho's eyebrow twitches. "Fine, fine," Jisung raises his left hand and turns the back to us. Minho does the same. On each of their ring fingers is a silver band with a few diamonds pushed into it. Everyone goes silent for a second before they start fanboying.
"Oh my god y'all are getting married?" Jeongin shoots up from his seat with a huge smile.
"Who asked who?" Chris has a huge smile across his face. He looks like he's about to cry too.
"Jisung proposed three days ago," Minho tells the group, pulling his hand back to fiddle with his ring.
"It's a really pretty pair of rings," Seungmin says.
Hyunjin agrees, grabbing Jisung's hand to take a closer look. "Curse you and your dumb romantics. Lucky asses."
Jisung sticks his tongue out teasingly. "Don't worry, you'll find someone soon Hyunjin."
"I think we should worry more about Chris," Changbin says.
Chris gives a flat look and breathes out from his nose. "Okay, okay, I get it. I'm old and I don't have a girlfriend. You know what, I am very content with my life."
"You hear that? He's fine with suffering from insomnia," Jisung jokes.
"Chris don't tell me you've got a ring ready for your sleeping problems," Seungmin snickers out. Everyone starts giggling at him.
"Yeah yeah, laugh it up. I'll show you someday."
"Where's the wedding gonna be?"
Jisung shrugs. "No clue. We have time to figure all that out. It definitely won't be in Korea. Maybe, the USA. Wherever we officially get married doesn't really matter though since it won't transfer over here. Which sucks, but in the end, it will just show how loyal we are to each other."
I fiddle with the ring on my finger with a smile. Someday I'll have two rings. I'm kind of jealous. If I had met Changbin three years ago we'd probably be married by now. I really shouldn't be thinking about marriage right now. I need to think about myself. I haven't met his family either. Actually, I should ask him about that soon. "Well, congratulations to you guys. Forever the weirdest couple to exist," Seungmin raises his glass.
"We aren't that weird!" Jisung shouts out, everyone denying his statement.
"Oh right, I never asked this but I've always been curious," I start, Jisung turning toward me. "How did you guys meet anyway?"
"Not this story," Changbin, Hyunjin, and Chris sigh out.
"Well..." Jisung grins. "It started when..."
