Chapter 20: The Date

Since Kari is still in the phase of avoiding Jooyoung, despite the conversation she had with Casey, she gets up early Saturday morning and gets to her office before anyone else is up. As she begins her unfinished work from the day before Jooyoung gets up. He plans to work on his upcoming album since there is nothing he can do about his relationship with Kari at the moment.

Not long after Jooyoung leaves Casey exits her room completely dressed and ready for her date. She makes her way to the kitchen to get breakfast when Zico sneaks up behind her.

"Boo!" Zico says in her ear as he pokes her sides.

"Oh my God!" Casey yells, startled by his sudden exclamation.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself," He says with a goofy smile.

Casey smiles back and just shakes her head. As she begins to move again towards the kitchen Zico grabs her hands and stops her.

"Since we are both ready to go why don't we eat breakfast somewhere?" He suggests as she looks at him questioningly.

Casey nods her head yes. They gather their things and head out of the apartment.

"Thank you Zico." Casey says with a smile as they wait for an elevator.

"What for? We haven't even gone out yet."

"For wanting to go out with me and for caring about me so much," Casey says.

Zico takes her hands in his and looks her in the eyes.

"You never have to thank me for caring for you, I have wanted to go on a date with you since the day I met you. You have just been too stubborn to let me in," He says with a smile.

Casey removes one of her hands from his and puts it on his cheek while smiling at him.

"If you keep talking like that I'll want to marry you before we even have our date," She says.

"I wouldn't mind," He replies with a small laugh.

They board the elevator once it comes and ride down to the first floor. As they are walking out of the building Zico glances over at Casey and notices an odd expression on her face.

"Are you worried about Kari?" Zico asks as he holds the back door open for her.

"No, she and I talked last night about everything. She will be fine," She says with a nervous smile.

"Than what's bothering you? You seem nervous."

"That's because I am," She replies honestly.

"Why?" He asks.

"I just realized that I haven't been on a date in nearly four years."

"Don't worry about anything. I have it all covered," He says as he takes her hand and leads her the passenger door.

Meanwhile...

As Casey and Zico are leaving for their date Kari's in her office working her way through all the paperwork on her desk. She is trying to stay preoccupied by staying busy and failing at not think about Jooyoung.

It's nearly lunch when Kari's gratefully interrupted from work and her thoughts of Jooyoung. The ringing of her cell brings her out of her work focus, the ID showing the number for the invitation shop.

"Hello?" She asks as she answers the phone.

"Yes, Mrs. Parker, I understand that you ordered invitations from us yesterday morning," The woman begins.

"Did something happen to my order?" Kari asks, a little nervous.

"No, your order is actually ready today. You can get them, but you have to come pick them up. We don't have anyone to deliver today," The woman finishes.
