Chapter 38: The Unexpected

(Casey and Zico)

She feels his mouth on hers as he starts kissing her and his hand slowly creeps further up her shirt.

Suddenly the pressure of him against her is gone. Casey slowly opens her eyes and finds the guy on the ground backing away from another man.

Casey wraps her arms around her chest and pushes herself further into the corner. She takes a few deeps breathes trying to calm herself down. She looks at her savior's back as he approaches the guy that tried to take advantage of her. He's still crawling backwards trying to get away, but is as far as he can go and is up against the wall opposite Casey.

"Listen, I wasn't going to do anything. I was just messing with her. I swear nothing was going on," The guy begs.

"I saw what you did. You had no intention of stopping. That wasn't messing her, that was sexual assault," The man standing growls.

The man standing moves forward, as if to restrain the guy on the ground, but before he can grab him the guy moves to the left. He gets to his feet and sprints down the hall away from the man and Casey. The man who saved Casey moves to run after him, but doesn't. He looks in the direction the man went then back at Casey.

She takes the opportunity to look at his face for the first time, but it is covered in shadows from the darkness in the hall.

He moves closer to Casey after deciding not to pursue the attacker. Casey continues to look at her savior, she wants to know who saved her from that terrible moment. When she finally sees his face she can't help thinking he looks similar to someone, but she can't quite place to whom.

"Are you okay?" He asks as he approaches her.

"N...not really," Casey admits with a shaky voice.

"Do you know that man?" He asks, helping Casey up.

"He works here at the hotel," She tells him as she leans against the wall.

Surprised the man looks back over his shoulder towards where the man had run off. He pulls out his phone and immediately calls the police.

"Some officers are on their way, they want us to meet them in the lobby. Are you okay to move?"

"Yes."

She slowly starts walking towards the elevators as her knees give out. Luckily the man is next to her and he gently grabs her elbow before she falls. He helps her into the elevator and presses the button for the lobby while Casey leans on the wall.

"I'm Taewoon but the way," He informs her as he holds his hand out for her to shake.

"Casey," She replies and she takes his hand and give him a grateful smile.

He looks at her confused for a moment and opens his mouth to say something but is interrupted when the elevator doors open.

Casey exits on her own while he follows close behind in case her knees give out again. She carefully makes her way to a couch near the lobby entrance and nearly collapses on it as soon as she is near.

Taewoon sits nearby and they wait for the police to arrive. Five minutes later two officers enter the hotel. Taewoon immediately goes over to talk to them. He talks to them for a moment before gesturing towards Casey. The two officers move towards Casey after their discussion with Taewoon.

"Good evening ma'am, I'm Officer Choi and this is Officer Seo. Can you tell us everything that happened?" The tall Officer Choi asks after he and Officer Seo shake her hand and sit down with her.

"I was coming back from dinner," Casey starts, telling them the whole story.

"We'll be looking at the security footage to see where he went. When we find him, and we will find him, he'll be held responsible for his actions," Officer Seo says after Casey finishes talking.
