Chapter 35: Lunch Plans

Jooyoung walks into Casey's office, closing the door behind him quietly. He sees Casey asleep at her desk and can tell she's tired by dark circles she's accumulated. He feels bad for waking her, but his news is too important to wait. For her anyway.

"Casey... wake up," Jooyoung says after approaching her.

He walks nearer, gently shaking her shoulder.

"Huh?" Casey says as she abruptly sits up.

"I have some news about Zico."

"What is it?" She asks fearfully, suddenly fully awake.

"He's been in Jeju this whole time," Jooyoung tells her.

"Jeju?" She questions.

"His older bother lives there," Jooyoung informs her.

"Is he okay? Did he say?" She asks in rapid fashion.

"He didn't say much, just where he is and that he needs some time to think."

"Oh, okay, well, thanks for letting me know," Casey replies curtly while checking the time on her watch. "Its time for lunch, you should take Kari somewhere nice. I know you haven't spent as much time together since everything happened," Casey suggests, as she makes plans in her head.

"Yeah, it's been so hectic," Jooyoung admits.

"Go have a nice meal and spend some quiet time together. I'm going to try to get some sleep now that I know Zico's okay," Casey tells him.

"Sounds like a good idea," Jooyoung says with a smile.

Casey smiles back, the first genuine smile she's given in a while.

Jooyoung leaves to get Kari and they wave their goodbyes to Casey as they walk by her door to the elevator. She waves back and gives them a smile as they go past. As soon as they are gone Casey pulls up a new internet browser and begins clicking and typing away. She finishes quickly and shuts down her computer before making her way upstairs.

She wasn't kidding when she told Jooyoung she's going to get some sleep. She enters the apartment and goes straight to her bed. Laying down she sets an alarm on her phone then closes her eyes and falls almost immediately to sleep.

Meanwhile...

Kari and Jooyoung make their way to his car, hoping they can have a nice lunch date in peace. They manage to leave the parking lot without much fuss since people aren't really interested in their business at the moment.

"So I'm guessing its good news you gave Casey since she could smile like that," Kari comments.

"I heard from Zico earlier and he told me where he is," Jooyoung tells her as he drives to a sushi place far away from work.

"Where is he? Is he okay?" Kari asks.

"He's in Jeju with his brother and he sounded okay on the phone."

"I hope you yelled at him for making us worry about him like this," Kari comments, a tinge of anger in her voice.

"Honestly, I didn't get to say anything other than 'hello'. He told me where he is and then hung up," Jooyoung tells her with a sigh.

"I'm gonna kill him," Kari says plainly.

"Yeah, he kind of needs to come back for us to kill him."

"He is planning on coming back right?" Kari asks, suddenly worried about Zico's intentions.

"I don't know what he's planning or thinking right now," Jooyoung answers truthfully.
