Chapter 34: The Nightmare

"Casey!"

Casey bolts up from deep sleep at the sound of Kari's scream. She looks over to see that it's only two in the morning. Confused, and slightly irritated Casey quickly gets up and leaves her room before Kari yells again.

She goes to the living room to EXO-K sitting on the couch. With raised eyebrows Casey looks for Kari and spots her at the kitchen table with teary eyes.

"Kari, what's going on?" She asks as moves to her friend.

"It's Zico... he was in an accident... he didn't make it," Kari says before breaking down in more tears.

"W...what?"

Tears begin to run down Casey's face.

"It's all your fault. You didn't forgive him. He died because of you," Jooyoung says angrily from behind her.

Casey can't say anything, too shocked from the news. Suddenly Jooyoung grabs her and throws her to the floor.

"He's dead because of you! You should be dead, not him!"

Kari looks at Casey through her tears.

"Kari..." Casey starts.

"He's right. It is your fault. You should be dead," Kari interrupts.

"You can't mean that."

"But I do, I mean it."

"You should make this right," Jooyoung says calmly.

He grabs her by the shoulders, pulling her to her feet. He then grabs her hair and drags her down the hall. He pulls her into Zico's room and to his bathroom. Kari follows behind and begins to run water in the tub once they are in the bathroom.

She stoppers the drain and water quickly fills the tub. Casey tries to get away from Jooyoung, afraid of what he's doing. At her attempt Jooyoung's crib hardens on her hair and he slams her against the wall to keep her still.

"Please, don't do this!" Casey pleads.

"All you do is hurt the people around you. When you're gone no one else will be hurt by you," Kari says bitterly.

Before Casey can talk them out of hurting her Kari's turning off the water and the tub is full. Jooyoung pulls her away from the wall and towards the water. Casey struggles as much as she can, but it's useless. Jooyoung throws her into the freezing cold water. The temperature and sudden shock of hitting the water makes the breath leave her lungs.

Jooyoung holds her under, one hand on her chest, the other holding her jaw. She can feel Kari's hands on her legs, trying to keep her from kicking. Casey struggles and fights as much as she can while she holds what breath she has left. She reaches her hands up and claws at Jooyoung, but her arms aren't long enough to push him away. She begins feel her body giving up and knows it won't be long before she looses consciousness.

Casey closes her eyes as an image of Zico at the beach flashes across her mind. She feels guilt for leaving things with Zico the way she did. Suddenly the pressure of Jooyoung's and Kari's hands are gone.

She sits up suddenly and takes a deep breath. Opening her eyes Casey looks around and finds herself in her room. With tears rolling down her face she looks over to it's five in the morning.

Without thinking she jumps out of bed and runs to the living room. It's dark, but she can tell that there's no one there. Then she goes to Zico's room and throws the door open, looking around for Zico. He isn't in bed or the bathroom, worried she goes to Kari's room. Regardless of the sleeping individuals inside Casey approaches the bed.
