Chapter 29: Bad News

The anchor goes over the story again and again, each time with a little more information. Casey hopes he says who gave them the information, but he never does. Finally, after not being able to take it anymore Kari turns the channel and starts ordering people to eat.

Everyone crowds around the food Kari and Jooyoung brought and start eating. At first it's silent, no one wants to talk because they don't want to bring up a sore subject. Finally Hiro manages to get Sehun to start talking to him and then everyone else follows. The room gets louder as people start conversing.

Kari and Jooyoung are talking with Baekhyun and Chanyeol while sharing a pizza when Kari's phone starts ringing. Not recognizing the number Kari answers timidly.

"Hello?" She asks as she hushes the people around her with a gesture.

"Hey Kari," Minho says.

She can hear the smirk in his voice.

"Y... you did this," She states quietly. "How?"

"I was there that night. I saw everything. I was going to try to get you back, but when that guy proposed to you I decided to go a different route," He tells her smugly.

"I can sue you for this, you know that right?"

"You have no proof it was me. And all I did was pass the information along to someone else. They talked to the press. You can't prove that it was me," He easily defends.

Kari motions for Casey's attention while Minho is talking. She mouths that she is talking to Minho when Casey raises her eyebrows at her in question. Casey takes the phone as soon as she nears Kari.

"Is it possible for you to not make trouble?" Casey asks when she has the phone.

"Ha! That's rich coming from someone who's dating one of her artists. You two made this mess, I just helped let the world know about it," Minho laughs out.

"The world is about to know some things about you now Minho," Casey threatens.

"Unless you want to be sued I suggest you keep your mouth shut!" Minho says hatefully.

"Always so hostile when you know you're about to be cornered. I'll stay quiet if you tell me who talked to the press," Casey offers.

"What makes you think I would tell you anything?"

"The fact that I know things about you that can ruin your image, your career, and any future relationship you ever have," Casey counters confidently.

"Fine. It was one of the staff members at SM. I told him everything I saw and gave him some pictures I took at the masquerade. That's as far as I was involved. I don't know if he sold you out alone or if it was an order from someone at the top. Now promise to keep quiet," Minho rushes.

"I suggest you stay out of our business from now on Minho, or you may not ever find another job in the entertainment industry," Casey advises him sternly before hanging up the phone.

Kari, Jooyoung, and Zico look at her with raised eyebrows.

"He gave SM the information, they decided to air it. Probably to get back at us for taking EXO-K from them," She informs them as she hands the phone back to Kari.

"This is our fault," Sehun says quietly to the rest of EXO-K.

Casey and Kari look over to him after he speaks. When they see tears running down his face as he looks sadly at the floor they move over to him. Kari puts her arm around his shoulder, trying to comfort him while Casey kneels in front of him. When he doesn't look up from the floor she gently lifts his chin.
