Pulling out all the ingredients from the shopping bags on the counter I look at the clock to see its already 4pm, I need to get start on dessert so it can be chilled by the time dinners done. Ive decided to make mommas favorite dessert which just so happens to be Cutter's favorite also, turtle cheesecake. I get started on the cheesecake filling while melting the chocolate and caramel on the stove to drizzle in once melted. I bought store bought crust knowing I wouldn't have enough time to make one from scratch, once the filling is done I spread it into the crust and rotate the chocolate and caramel sauce then using a toothpick I create a swirl effect in it. Putting it in the oven for 30 min to cook, then the fridge to harden and chill. Getting back to the main dish, I get the water boiling for the pasta. Just as I'm about to start the sauce i hear someone sneak behind me, quickly spinning around I'm faced with my 5'8 little brother with a big grin on his face. "Aww B, how can you hear me every time I try to scare you?" I laugh as I pull him in for a tight hug, Ive missed him so much. "Hey, little brother! How was camp? Are you excited for your first year of high school?" "Woah, slow down there sis. Yes camp was great, eh on the school but yeah I'm excited to try out for football. I think tryouts are in a couple weeks, so I'm really looking forward to that" "That's great! Umm.. so i have some news to tell you"swallowing hard I tell him everything that happened over the last week all the way up until this mornings events. We don't keep secrets that what's keeps our bond strong. "Wow, a boyfriend huh? He's not like that other jerk is he, because if so I'm bigger now I can rearrange his face for you" Shaking my head at him "No, hes great I really love him" " That's good sis, i just want to see you happy. As for that tramp, just wait til i start school with you I wont let her near you. I promise." Feeling emotional again I wrap him in a hug "Thank you little brother. Gavin should be here soon so if you want when we gets here can you let him in?" I ask him as I get started on the sauce, with a bow he makes his way out of the kitchen into the living room where dad is still on the couch watching football.Glancing at the clock I see its 10 to 5 knowing Gavin will be here shortly, I take the garlic bread out of the oven and place it on top of the stove to drool before making a dash for my room to change my shirt and fix my hair. I somehow got tomato sauce all over my shirt while cooking and my hair is just a mess from sweating in the kitchen. Spraying some dry shampoo into my hair I run a brush through it before redoing a high ponytail. I search my closet for a decent shirt worthy of a family dinner with my boyfriend, choosing a black v neck wrap around shirt that shows a bit of midriff because of my low rise jeans, I make my way back towards the guys quietly losing my door. Reaching the living room I hear the guys yelling at the television, hearing Gavins' voice mixed in my heart starts beating fast knowing he's here and getting along with my family. I peek around the corner but they don't see me, they're too engrossed into the game. I stand there a good 5 minutes before Gavin notices me, a big smile spread across his face as he looks over my attire. Making his way towards me I can't help but smile as well, pulling me into his arms I can smell his woodsy cologne and I'm lost in him. "Angel, how am I supposed to sit by your family and think innocent thoughts when your wearing that?" He asks in a husky voice into my ear, feeling. a shiver run down my spine I decide to tease him a bit "If you can try, there will be a reward for you later before you go home. That way you'll have something to remember me by over the week" I whisper back in my most sultry voice I could manage. As I walk around him into the kitchen i hear him groan, laughing at my job conquered, I set the table for dinner.
My father sits and the head of the table my brother to his right, I to his left and Gavin to my left. A big bowl of spaghetti in the middles of the table with a platter of garlic bread, dad takes the tongs and have first dibs at dinner. Passing the bowl around we each get our fill of pasta before reaching for a slice of bread. "Don't eat too much pasta guys, dessert is in the fridge" I tell them with. astern look. "What kind of dessert?" Cutter asks knowingly. "Only your favorite" I tell him with a smile. He just emailed back and starts digging in his food. "So, Gavin what's your plan for after graduation? Any college goals?" Dad asks. Glancing at Gavin he swallows his bite of food before dealing his throat to answer him. "Yes, sir I plan on attending A&M next fall for engineering" " Oh, that's where Bryn's attending as well, did you know about this Bryn?" He looks to me with a questionable look like I planned for him to join me there. "Umm.. yeah he mentioned it when we first met. He went and did a tour of the campus that came day actually." My father nods his head with a new look of approval at Gavin. "So, Cutter your sister tells me your a linebacker, any plans to continue football in high school?" Gavins asks Cutter. "Yeah, umm tryouts are in a couple of weeks and I'm hoping that camp helped me get ready for the next school year" "Well if you ever need any help let me know, I may be a quarterback but I love the game so I could help you out if you wanted" "Really, wow thanks man!" I send Gavin a smile as he grabs my hand under the table and gives it a squeeze. How much more can I love this man? "Ok guys who's ready for dessert?" I ask as I make my way into the kitchen to grab the cheesecake. Suddenly I feel arms wrap around my waist, smelling the woods ,knowing its Gavin, I lean back into him. "I cant wait for my dessert" he whispers in my ear. "Almost done baby, then I'm all yours" I say as I slide out of his arms towards the fridge. Letting out a huff he takes the cheesecake from me, sends me a wink over his shoulder before joining my dad and brother at the table. God, what am I gonna do with him?
