You had picked the boys up early from school, just in case you wouldn't be home when they returned. They had only about an hour of school left anyways when you pulled them out.
The boys were happy to see you, but confused as to why you had picked them up. You had quickly explained that Law had been found and he as at the hospital, Luffy was happy, apparently he liked Law quite a bit. Ace however frowned at the news. You didn't know if it was because he didn't like Law, or if he was worried.
When you arrived at the hospital you meet up with Shanks, who showed you to the room and then took the boys downstairs to the cafeteria for a snack.
When you went into Law's room it took your brain a few moments to process the fact that the mass on the bed with tubes sticking out of it was your friend. You slowly walked up to him bedside and grabbed his left hand, one of the few things sticking out from underneath the tangled mess of tubes. Droplets fell onto the both of you's hands and you slowly bring up your other hand to touch your now moist cheek.
When did your start crying?
This brought back painful memories of sitting by Sabo's bedside, waiting for him to wake up. But at least back then Sabo didn't have all these tubes, and he still had all his limbs.
It was weird seeing him like this, someone who was much more powerful than most of the people you knew was laying in bed like this, and why?
You didn't know why, you know it was most likely Kid who did this, but even Kid should have had limits on how far he'd go. You reach through the tangled mess and your fingers brush against his cheek. These past two months have been the worst for you, but probably more so for him.
Anger welded up in your stomach the longer you looked at Law. You know you couldn't hurt Kid, you truly did care for him even if he could be an ass. So you needed a second out lit. A deep breath you pull out your phone, Law was in no position to help you, so you had to move along without him.
You lean over the mess as the line rings and kiss his forehead.
"I'll come back soon...I'll bring all three boys with me so they can come see you..." You whispered quietly, you were sure he didn't care much for the boys, but this was your way of saying you'd get them back with no problems.
At least you hoped.
—-Sabo—-
Three hours later
He closes his notebook with a sigh, he didn't feel like studying anymore...
He glances outside his window and wonders absently if he should go to the spot, doubting you would be there though because it wasn't the right day. Leaning back in his seat he almost falls over when his door slams open and his father stomps into the room.
"Downstairs. Now." He says, yanking Sabo off the chair and nearly tossing him out the room. Sabo stays silent as he walks through the hall and eventually to the steps going down. When he reaches the bottom step he notices an extreme amount of guards lined up through the main hall.
"What...?" Sabo starts but his father quickly brushes past him, not answering the boy.
"What's happening?" Sabo asks, chasing after the man. Without even looking back at the boy he answers.
"That woman is here for you." Is all he says and Sabo feels his heart skip a beat and he runs to keep up with his father as he walks out the front door.
Sabo froze when he saw the scene outside, his jaw dropped a bit. You stood at the gate entrance to mansion. The gate had been cut down by a man with green hair and three swords, who was glaring at the nearest guards, who had their weapons drawn and pointed in your direction. On the other side stood a man with dark hair and piercing gold eyes, who looked rather bored with the situation, like it wasn't really worth his time.
But then he saw his brothers standing in front of you, Luffy grinned and waved at Sabo, who was to shocked at all of this to really respond. Ace had a large smirk on his lips, in front of him the ground was charred and a lot of guards were being hauled away with severe burns. You stood behind then, a neutral expression on your face, but you could see the anger in your eyes as you used your fruits power to make them glow. The air around you was dark and Sabo was sure that if he was standing where Luffy and Ace were then he'd probably have been cold.
Your eyes didn't flicker over to Sabo once during the silent standoff between you and his father. Sabo wasn't even sure why he was called out here.
"Tell her." His father said, looking over at him with a dark look in his eyes. It took a moment for the threat to sink in as he looked around at all the guns pointed towards you. They were going to kill you if you kept trying to get him back.
"I-" Sabo started but your voice cut him off.
"Don't make the boy lie." You spoke in such a dark tone that it sent shivers down the spine of everyone who was standing in your way. Sabo saw his father tense for a moment before giving her a sly smirk.
"Lega-" He started but just like Sabo, you cut him off.
"Legally, that boy is my child. One that you've seemed to have kidnapped." You spoke so calmly, it made Sabo want to run back inside. He watched as his father start to get irritated by your attitude, but you took one step forward and he fell silent almost instantly.
"And if you want to talk about legal. Then I think I should point out all that you've done that wasn't." You took another step forward while talking, passing Ace and Luffy who were watching the man's reaction with smug grins.
"You have no pro-" He stopped talking when the air around you got darker, the cold stretched across the lawn and hit the house, Sabo started to shiver. Sabo's father went pale and took a step back.
"M-Mo-Monster..!" He gasped, causing a small smirk to grace your lips as your shadow started to grow.
"Shoot her!" He shouted.
"No!" Sabo screamed but it was to late, bullets came at you from almost all sides. But before it could hit you Luffy used his balloon, Ace burned some of the bullets and Zoro and Mihawk deflected the rest.
The whole place went silent when they realized not one bullet hit their mark. Your smirk widened a bit as most of the guards dropped their weapons and began to back away.
"Give him back." You said smoothly, your eyes never left that man's face once during this whole ordeal.
