Three weeks later
You watched silently as Law fumbles with his shirt. You had offered to help him but he just silently glares at you. He's determined not figure it out on his own.
Law couldn't be a surgeon anymore.
It was painfully obvious considering he only had his left arm now. He struggles with the last few buttons and it is taking all of your willpower not to help him.
"You know you can learn this over time, asking for help is-" You start as he fails to button the last two. He growls angrily, he glares at you.
"Shut up!" He says, obviously fed up with this.
"It will take some time getting use to-" You start again.
"Shut up!" He interrupts, squeezing his eyes shut and rubbing the bridge of his nose with his hand. You walk over to him and take his hand, a sad smile on your lips as you hold it. Law freezes for a moment and stares at you. He takes a deep breath, forcing himself to relax.
"Sorry." He says after a few minutes, everyone had constantly been asking to help him, and it was starting to drive him mad. You release his hand and he calmly attempts to button the last few buttons. It took him a few minutes but he got it, he gives you a slight grin, very proud of his accomplishment. You giggle and straighten out his shirt, it was all crooked from the way he was fighting with it. He huffs lightly, his breath pushes some of your bangs out of your face.
"I could have gotten that.." He says quietly, mildly annoyed. You smile up at him and offer him your hand. He stares at it for a moment before taking it.
Law was being released from the hospital today, but he couldn't stay by himself until he could manage to do everything with one arm, so you offered him to stay at your place. Mostly so his friends don't fawn over him and make him angry, just like he was just now. You glanced at the boys who were waiting on the chairs across the room.
Luffy looks up at you and grins.
"Is he ready yet?" Luffy asks, hopping off his chair and running over to Law who was a bit wobbly on his feet. Apparently losing an arm messes with your balance, he might need to readjust his fighting skills.
"Yeah he seems ready to get out of here!" You answered, glancing at Law who looks at you with a forced neutral face. You offer him your hand and he takes it, using you to help him balance himself as he walks. Ace and Sabo watch him carefully, you weren't sure why but they seemed angry at Law.
You finally help Law out into the hall and he's already gotten use to walking with his new shift in balance. You can tell because he wasn't pulling on your arm anymore, but he doesn't let go. The boys see your confused look and Ace and Sabo glare at Law, who in turn just looks at them and smirks.
Your not really sure what their problem is, but oh well!
Luffy walks over to the other side of you and grabs your left hand, he looks up at you with a large grin. You squeeze his hand lightly and give him a small smile in return. Ace runs ahead of you and smacks the elevator button, Luffy whines a bit.
"I wanted to press that!" Luffy whines and Ace just smirks. You hear Sabo sigh and you look back and grin at him, he looks up and shakes his head, a smile on his face. They're fighting over buttons.
It takes a few minutes before the elevator reaches the floor your on, but when it does it opens with a ding and everyone files in. Ace starts jumping and the elevator rocks a bit. Law glares at the boy.
"Ace stop.." Law says calmly, trying not to fall over. Sabo and Luffy sees this and helps Ace with rocking the elevator. You try not to laugh at the face Law was making as he clung helplessly to the inside of the elevator. The door close and you start your decent.
"Guys please..." You called out to the three softly, instantly they stopped but the elevator made a weird strained sound. You glance at Law, who is looking at the ceiling with his eyes wide.
"Shit.." He mutters just as the elevator stops suddenly. The boys look around confused and you sighed.
"They set off the safety thing didn't they..." You muttered as Law just silently nods, glaring at the three boys.
"What happened?" Sabo asks, looking at the screen that displays what floor they're on. They are on the second floor.
"Why did we stop?" Luffy asks as Ace smacks the first floor button. You sigh and sit down on the ground, Luffy walks over to you and sits down on your lap.
"We'll be here awhile, the elevator was shaking to much, so it locked itself in place, thinking it was about to fall or something." You said, leaning back against the metal inside. Law carefully sits next to you and sighs.
"So much for getting out of here.." He mutters under his breath and you let out a nervous laugh.
"Sorry..." You said and he lets out a light laugh, surprising you.
"When you said you were picking me up I knew something would happen." He teases slightly and you glare at him, pouting a bit. You shove his shoulder and he almost falls over, not being able to catch himself if he falls towards the right.
"Sorry..!" You gasped, grabbing him before he hits the ground. He normally would have been annoyed, but the shock on your face was so cute, it made him laugh. You looked at him confused but he just shakes his head.
"Don't worry about it.." He says with a ghost of a smile left on his lips.
