Jazelle's POV
"I want to be with you too but Jazelle,"
Was Luke really saying this? Hours ago he was telling me that he loved me, and that he had found happiness, now he's throwing it all away to be with Danielle? I knocked on the door which I probably shouldn't have done.
"L-Luke" I said staring to tear.
Forget about it. Luke was going to break up with me just to be with Danielle. I was so hurt. I had to get out of here. Not just the house, this town. I couldn't stand seeing Luke with Danielle. At school, in the streets. It was just going to break me more.
I walked out there door still crying. holding my arms protecting myself from the cold cause I left my jacket in Luke's car.
I couldn't stand to walk in the cold anymore so I ran into the public Library. I went to the back of the library just crying. I dug my face into my arms and just stayed there I ended up falling asleep there.
When I woke up it was about 7:00 pm.
I checked my phone and a had a million texts from Danielle and Luke. I didn't want to talk to anyone. I was so hurt by both of them. I had told Danielle that Luke and she still went for him like the little slut she is.
"Excuse me the library is going to be closing in about 5 minutes" The lady said.
I left the library and it was even colder outside now. I saw the bus pull up and I got on. I was heading for the back when I felt someone grab my arm. It was Danielle's mom.
I was scared to death. I knew how Danielle's mom was and I couldn't let her hurt me.
"Where the hell is my daughter" she said to me trying to keep her voice down.
Danielle hadn't been gone for a while, maybe a little bit of punishment form her mom is what she needed. I was so mad at Danielle. This is what she deserved.
"She's at the house two blocks down with the bike parked outside of it" I said.
"Who's house is that?" She said growing calmer towards me but her eyes getting angrier because of Danielle.
"Michael Clifford's" I said.
"Is that her boyfriend?" She asked.
"No she's dating Luke Hemmings" I said rolling my eyes.
I felt like I was betraying Danielle, but Danielle betrayed me. This is what she deserved.
"Thanks for the information, this girl has been costing me money. Child services won't pay me until she's back"
"Well you're welcome" I said.
It was my stop so I got off the bus. Danielle's mom stared at me until I got into my house. I felt safer there. I went up to my room and surprisingly didn't cry. I just kinda sat in my bed. Thinking about how Danielle was going to have this all come back to her.
Danielle's POV
I was just sitting there with Luke beside me looking at all the unread texts that I sent Jazelle. I felt horrible. I had just taken Luke away from Jazelle. And Jazelle was there to hear it all.
Just then there was a loud thump on the door.
"It's probably Michael and Sophia m" Luke said as he got up to answer the door. The door pushed forward and Luke was thrown on the floor. I looked up and my hands started to tremble in fear.
"M-Mom?" I said my voice even trembling.
"Luke, wake up we have run" I said quickly.
Luke didn't respond he was laying life less on the floor.
I couldn't just sit there waiting for Luke as much as I wanted to. My mom would've had me in the same condition as Luke.
I ran into the back yard and jumped the fence before my mom could catch up. I don't think my mom was chasing after me though, I think that she was hurting Luke. I heard Luke's scream for my name and I couldn't just keep running. I went back to the yard and raced back into the house.
There I saw my mom choking Luke with her hands.
"LUKE!" I screamed.
My mom let go of Luke and started running towards me.
Luke grabbed my mom from behind and threw her to the ground. He took my hand and we ran from the house jumped the fence from the back yard and jumped the fence. We ran to anywhere we felt was safe, which was pretty much no where. It was almost 10:00 at night and everything was closed. Luke turned around and said
"Should we jump the fence to the park?" He said
"I don't know we'll be on more trouble if someone finds us" I said.
We had to make our decision quickly, cause my mom might be anywhere.
We jumped over the fence to the park. We hid behind a group of bushes so that security couldn't see us.
"We're safe now Danielle" Luke said pulling me into a hug.
I knew was safe I just didn't feel safe at all.
"I can't do this anymore" I stared to cry into Luke's chest.
"I can't keep running from my problems, if I do it's all just gonna pile up" I said. Luke sat me down next to him.
"Just look at the stars" He said.
"They will guide you home" He says and turns to me.
I didn't understand. I had no home. I had no where for these stars to guide me too.
"I have no home" I say staring to tear.
"Maybe not yet, but the stars will guide you to where your home will be soon"
