Luke's POV:
My heart was hurting, but I've been through this pain before. I knew what it was like, and I knew how to get over it. I honestly thought Danielle might be just a little different, but I guess she just ended up being another one of those girls. I wanted just to easily get over it like other girls, but my mind ran back to Danielle constantly. I couldn't think of someone who understood, so I just kept my thoughts to myself. Maybe this was a good time to see if Allison was worth giving a second chance. I walked to Dan...Allison's house.
Knocking on the door, her mom appeared with a confused face.
"Luke?" She said.
"Uh.. Hi?" I said awkwardly. I knew why she had such a worried and confused look on her face, last time I should up at Allison's house, her dad nearly broke half my bones.
"Can I see Allison" I said.
"Uh are you sure?" She said eyeing me down. She was worried about me, and obviously scared of her husband.
"Yes" I nodded.
"Allison" She whispered almost, even though Allison was up stairs.
Allison came down, she actually looked pretty good, sorta like how I dress but and a girl way. She had a Nirvana shirt, jeans, and black vans. Allison had changed since the last time I saw her. She used to wear cardigans, and pencil skirts, and flats. Nothing like how she was dressed now.
"L-Luke" she said. Her voice was hushed, not wanting her dad to hear my name in their house, it was like a really bad curse just saying Luke.
"Hi" I said back smiling at her.
She came outside with me sitting on her lawn, like we used to do. It felt good, feeling the light wind as we just sat their.
"What are you doing here Luke" she said sounding like she didn't want me here at all.
"I actually came to tell you something" I said.
"Can we, try this again?" I said nervously. "Like us?"
She seemed shocked, bs looked at the grass.
"Luke, I- I don't know" She said.
"Oh...uh, yeah I guess I just rushed into asking you" I let the words stumble out of my mouth without clearly thinking.
"It's not that Luke, I do like you, but my d-dad" She said. Her dad kinda pissed me off. While her was away, all I did was comfort Allison, now he hates me for whatever reason?
"I know but, we can keep it a secret. We won't tell anyone, I'll pick you up really early in the morning, or really late at night. We can find a way to work this out. I promise" I help out my pinkie, waiting for her to do the same.
"I guess we can try" She said with a sigh. "But, what if it doesn't work out? I really don't need a broken heart Luke, I've had one too many of those" She said her voice getting shaky and unsteady.
"We'll try our best, I'll try my best" I said looking down and reaching for her hand.
She flinched at my touch, I guess it's been a while.
"By the way, I love your new style" I said. She blushed and giggled. It was kinda strange, I remember when Danielle would blush, it would give me butterflies, when she would smile or laugh, I would fall in love with her all over again. Forgetting about her was going to be so much harder then I thought. I thought she would just be like all the others, but maybe she was different, so much different.
I had to get myself to stop thinking about her, so I asked Allison to come to the park with me. It felt like ages until she came back from what I assume was arguing with her parents.
She came out with a flannel tied around her waist, with a whit t-shirt.
"See I told you your style was much better then before" I smiled.
"Thanks, It's really nothing major, just a few changes in music interest" she said.
"Like what?" I asked, Allison had never been into the music I listened to, she always hated it actually.
"I thought you hated that kind of music, like Nirvana"
"Yeah, well It's kinda grown on me" She said.
"What about All Time Low? Still hate them?"
"No, actually there're probably my favorite, Missing You is my favorite off the new album Future Hearts" I was shocked by her answer. Whenever I would try to get her into bands like that, she would always push it away, now she was all over them.
"Your favorite song by all time low would be?" I asked.
"Somewhere In neverland" She smiled and looked at the sky. "It's their best song you know"
"No, Runaways is their best" I said back defending my favorite song.
It felt good, just talk about music, well music I liked. She defiantly changed as a person, into a better person. We talked about music the entire time we were at the park, until two kids came up to us, asking for us to push them on the swings. We pushed the kids until they went back to their parents, then We say on the swings, nearly breaking them.
"Your so freaking fat" She said when the swing set almost tipped over when I sat down.
"Don't act like a stick Ali" I said, I was surprise that I called her by a nick name, but for some reason it felt right.
"Yeah, but you don't have to eat like a hippo Lukey" She said. I smiled and for once, I actually felt like coming back to Allison was making me feel better.
Maybe it was better this way.
