Danielle's POV
"I promise you I'll never leave you" Luke said.
I had heard these words too many times to believe them. Even from Luke I couldn't believe them. My own parents had left me. I was sure that if they had left, some guy would too.
I didn't respond to Luke. I didn't want to say I believed him when I didn't. I didn't want to say that I didn't either. the rest of the walk home in silence.
"Should we go back to Michael's?" Luke said.
"I just know that it's completely safe" Luke said.
"Michael deserves an explanation on why half his stuff is broken" I said back to him.
"I guess" Luke said.
We went back to the house when we saw Michael's car in the driveway. My stomach was already in knots before we even went in.
We walked in and saw Michael and Sophia just staring at the ground and at all of the damage.
"Michael we can explain everything" I said.
"Well go on and explain" he said sounding annoyed at me.
"It's about my mom, she broke into the house and tried to take me home. I took of and starting running until I heard Luke gasping for air and being attacked by my mom"
"I went back in and my mom came after me. She probably got really mad and broke some stuff when we got away" I said.
Michael just looked at me with a really confused look on his face. I couldn't blame him, I'd be confused too.
"What can we do to fix this" Luke said.
I didn't expect Luke to say anything really, when trouble started he had always bee the one to stay quiet.
"Nothing, it's okay it wasn't your fault" Michael said.
"We can clean up or pick up some of the glass on the floor" I said.
As much as I knew this wasn't my fault I still felt like it was. It was a habit of mine I guess.
"No really you both look extremely tired, get home and get some rest" Michael said.
I agreed even though I felt like I was walking out of something I started
"You can come over to my place if you'd like" Luke said
I'd never been over to Luke's house before. I knew what his family was like, they were strict but nice, they were the type of parents my parents were, just looking out for their kid. Well, I don't know if my parents were like that after all.
Luke and I walked over to his house in complete silence. I didn't know what was going on but it seemed pretty strange, it was almost like Luke was mad at me for some reason. Maybe he was mad, after all it was pretty much my fault this all happened.
When we finally got to his house there were his parents in the dining room staring both of us down.
"Luke can we talk to you without the company of you little friend here" Luke's dad said.
Luke's POV
"I'll be right back" I said to Danielle.
"What were you thinking?" My mum yelled.
"Sneaking off to the park with some girl isn't something we want you or this family to be known for" She yelled again.
I knew that Danielle could hear everything my parents were saying. I turned around and saw the look of disappoint on her face.
"It wasn't my fault" I said.
"Oh we know it's not your fault" My dad said.
"It's that girls fault isn't it" He said. He seemed like he was asking my mum more then he was asking me.
"I'm sure it was" my mum responded.
Then I heard my front door close and Danielle was gone.
"It wasn't her fault either okay?"
"You guys know nothing just to blame it all on her" I yelled."You don't know what happened, and you can't go blame her, cause it wasn't her fault. It was my fault. I'm the one who went running into the park and she was the one trying to hold me back"
I walked out the door and felt my parents just stare back at me. I hated my parents and how they wanted me to live up to be this perfectionist because they wanted a perfect reputation for the family. Well I'm not perfect. And I don't wanna be their little perfectionist anymore.
