The sun didn't peek through the windows here. It was really dark as I stretched one of my arms out to my side. I was surprised to feel that Azaix was still laying next to me. He's normally gone by the time I get up in the mornings. But he was still here. Which that made me happy.
Azaix took a deep breath putting his nose in my hair. I knew he was awake. ''Do I smell good?'' I asked kind of knowing the answer.
''Oh you smell so divine, my mate,'' he said rolling to his side to throw his arm around me. He chuckled when I tried to get out of his hold. There was no way I could do it but after a minute or two he let go and I was allowed to get up.
Not being able to see that well, I held my hand out so I wouldn't bump into the walls or anything else he had around the bedroom. I heard Azaix get up shortly after me. He walked over, wrapped his arm around my waist and led me out the living room and kitchen area that had more light. I was at least able to walk freely in here than back in the bedroom.
''What would you like for breakfast?'' Azaix asked leaving my side to walk over and to open the door to the refrigerator.
Thinking about what all I could see. I could see bacon, eggs, sausage, and other things that would make a good breakfast but then I saw the container of the leftovers from last night's dinner. My mouth started watering thinking about how good it was and how much better it would be now. ''Could I have the leftovers from last night?''
For a moment he stood there without saying anything. His index finger tapping the side of the door as he looked inside. Then he moved his hand to pick up the container. When Azaix turned there was a huge smile on his face. ''Of course you can have the leftovers.'' He opened the lid and put it in the microwave for a minute and a half. ''I'm really glad that you loved it.''
''How could anyone not. It tasted amazing.''
Azaix looked over at me. ''You'd be surprised at how many people don't care to much for it.'' He popped open the microwave, stirred the noodles before putting back in for another minute. ''Thazon is the only other one that don't mind sitting down and eating it with me.'' He walked to the edge of the counter to be next to me. He ran his finger along my arm before going back over to pull out the food for me to eat.
I thanked him and started eating as he went back to the refrigerator to make him something. He pulled out the eggs and bacon and a couple other things. I sat there watching him as he cooked the bacon before scrambling the eggs to add it in the pan. The sound of the eggs sizzling was satisfying. And like I thought, Azaix was making him an omelette for breakfast.
''You really are an amazing cook,'' I said taking my last bite. I couldn't believe how full I was but damn it was so good to let any go to waste.
Taking a bite of his omelette he smiled. ''I would like to think I know the basics of cooking,'' he said taking another. I nodded. ''Though I don't normally cook though.''
''Really? Why?''
''I don't cook for just anyone.'' He looked at me and I knew he meant it. I nodded and wondered why. He told me that Thazon had tasted his mother's dish before so I wondered why. Then, just then Azaix laid his hand over mine. ''I only cook for those who I care for.''
Oh. Yeah I guess that would make sense. I mean a lot of people were like that. So I couldn't beat him up on that. ''I know what you mean.''
He made eye contact with me. His eyes were hazel but almost turning completely brown in color. Azaix moved closer before kissing me. It was gentle and only the one before nodding and standing up straight to put everything in the sink.
Thazon walked in shortly after that. He looked at me like he was surprised to see that I was up and walking. ''I see you're up! How are you feeling?''
''I'm feeling okay,'' I said turning in my stool.
