3rd person POV:

I found a love for me.

Aaron T. hated being the weird nerd next door. T hated knowing everything. He hated that he broke everything and stubbed his toes often. He hated himself and everything around him, a little too much.

Until, Aaron Z. moved in next door, beautiful face and blinding smiles, with cookies on his front porch the next morning, taking the bus with him to school.

Darling, just dive right in.

And follow my lead.

So T went along with it, and Z asked questions and listened to all the things T had to say about this world and the next, and laughed and smiled and cooked for him, till they were one. Watermelons on the lake side, playlists swapped late at night, T making the songs that Z wanted to sing.

Well, I found a boy, beautiful and sweet.

I never knew you were the someone waiting for me.

So when Z leaned in to kiss him on T's 15th birthday, just the two of them on the roof, T sighed into it, because all was right with the world, all was right with them.

'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love.

Not knowing what it was.

So when Z moved away for college, T went just a year later. And because T was smart and studied harder than usual, he got to be with Z.

So T studied his music while Z did music with him, and college life passed in busy drunken blurs of friendship and love.

And when Z moved away because he found something he really wanted to do, T let him.

I will not give you up this time.

A year of long distance later, T opens his door to a ring and a bouquet of flowers, and T says yes.

And when T presses his lips against Z's, he can taste the next 60 years of his life.

Darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own.

And in your eyes, you're holding mine.

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark with you between my arms.

Barefoot on the grass, we're listenin' to our favorite song.

Tae cheers as Robaire pops the bottle of champagne the next night, everyone gets tipsy, and when Z takes T home, it ends in a tangle of warm breaths and happy hearts.

T comes undone, hair strewn about his pretty forehead, and Z brushes it aside, his heart jumping a little more

When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath.

Clean, in between clean sheets, Z presses a kiss against T's temple, warm words whispered as they fall asleep.

But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight.

-

Well, I found a man, stronger than anyone I know.

He shares my dreams, I hope that someday I'll share his home.

So T falls and it's okay, because Z fell with him.

I found a love, to carry more than just my secrets.

They decide to wait a few years, but they made room in their lives to welcome pets, and hopefully children, as T mumbles one night as they nestle in bed, and Z's heart brims with joy, because he loves T a little too much, he would not mind sharing.

To carry love, to carry children of our own.

-

Baby, I'm dancing in the dark, with you between my arms.

Barefoot on the grass, listenin' to our favorite song.

T looks stunning in a white suit, walking down the aisle, as Z waits for him, and his friends and close family watch. They slip the rings onto each other's fingers after teary vows are spoken, and Z feels the warmth explode when they kiss.

When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful.

I don't deserve this, darling, you look perfect tonight.

"I'll drop my parents off at home and meet you tonight."

Oh, no, no

T's breath glitches as the truck hurtles towards him, hands clammy and feet glitching.

The pain is excruciating as people pull him out, and he breathes, coughing up the tiniest bit of blood.

"Z, I-"

-

I have faith in what I see.

Now I know I have met an angel in person.

Z races through the white halls, the lights harsh and blinding and the voices too loud.

His heart stops as he sees T clothed in clean hospital sheets, a senseless beeping noise in the back.

And he looks perfect.

Z is numb as T reaches his hand out fingers weakly grasping for him.

Z is numb and his vision is blurred and the last of T's warmth fades away, his hand falling slack within his.

No, I don't deserve this.

T always did look lovely in white, flowers scattered within his arms, face pale as Z bids him goodbye.

You look perfect tonight.
