"Karma comes after everyone eventually. You can't get away with screwing people over your whole life, I don't care who you are. What goes around comes around. That's how it works. Sooner or later the universe will serve you the revenge that you deserve."

― Jessica Brody, The Karma Club

Chapter Twelve>>

Jenna's POV

I woke up before Stiles, the morning sun that seeped through his curtains gracefully tearing me from dreamland. His arms wrapped around my torso as his face lay above my head. Soft snores escaped his lips, his face smoothed out from any stress.

I guess it's true what they say, you really do look younger as you sleep.

The usual crease between his forehead was nonexistent, along with the grim line his lips were always pressed in.

My fingers reached up running down the bridge of his nose, over his cupid's bow. Thumbs grazing his lips.

His eyelids flickered but didn't open as his body pulled mine closer to his. A smile lifted the corners of my mouth.

How did I get so lucky?

The pad of my pointer finger grazed his jaw line. "Why are you petting my face?"

I jumped at the sound of his voice; the low raspy sound that ignited a low burning fire in my gut. His eyelids stayed shut while he nuzzled his head into my shoulder.

"Because I like it." I mumbled leaning in, pressing my lips against his. The kiss was soft but passion could be felt as we moved in sync with each other.

We pulled away, his hand cupped my cheek as my head laid back against the pillow. His thumb rubbing gentle circles. "I like your face too."

I giggled. "Well, I would hope so."

We laughed before laying next to each other not saying a word. Just gazing into each others eyes.

"What are your plans for today?" Stiles questioned.

I pondered, what did I have to do today?

"I have to go by the animal clinic as ten until six. Deaton wants to show me the ropes on how to do secretary work."

Stiles made a grim face. "Fun."

I rolled my eyes at his sarcasm. "Work always is." My grin faded away as I looked down at my fingers. "I also planned on asking him about, you know, the whole panther thing. And why I have this, connection, with Lydia."

Stiles nodded. "That's good. Maybe we can finally shed some light to the subject. I've been doing some research though. It says that were-panthers are normally more protective of their 'cubs'. Maybe when you and Lydia were bit together it triggered an instinct of protection over her."

"Sounds reasonable." I agreed. "I'll ask him about it. What time is it?" I lean over him grabbing my phone off the desk table.

9:00

I sighed placing the phone back down, staying leaned over Stiles, my head on his chest. His fingers ran themselves through my hair, a soft smile dawned on my face and my eyes shut.

"I should probably go and get ready." I whined through the comfort.

"I don't want you to go." He whispered. I groaned into his bare skin, before placing a chaste kiss to his chest, then again to his lips.

"I'll find you after work. I don't have anything else to do today." He smiled grabbing my head one more time, placing a long kiss to my lips.

"Okay. Be careful."
