Chapter Thirty-Two>>

Lydia's house looked bare as we approached the doors. Scott, Stiles, and I rang the doorbell waiting for a response. It opened a few seconds later. Lydia stood looking flawless as usual, holding a tray full of punch.

"Happy Birthday!" Stiles yelled walking through the entrance, his hand wrapped around mine. Scott followed in behind us.

"Yeah." Lydia sung looking at us with a fake smile plastered on her face. She didn't wait for us to follow, just turned around leaving us. "Don't forget to try the punch!" She hollered after us, disappearing around a corner.

Placing our presents on the table we continued to walk around, scoping out the party, though it seemed to be pretty bare. "Have you seen Jackson anywhere?" Stiles inquired coming up behind Scott and me."

"No, seen Allison?"Scott fired back.

I shook my head. "Nope." We replied at the same time. Not that I'm looking for her, I'm actually avoiding her.

"We should probably tell her what we found though." Stiles continued ushering us down the hallway.

"I'm still kind of not sure what we found." I rolled my eyes at Scott's inability to put two and two together.

"We figured out it has something to do with water. You know, the fact that all the victims were on the swim team, the way the Kanima reacted around the pool." Stiles explained.

Scott nodded, finally understanding. "So, whoever's controlling the Kanima hates the swim team?"

"Hated the swim team." I corrected. Stiles nodded. "Specifically the 2006 swim team. So, it could be another teacher. Maybe, like a student back then." We walked through the entrance of the backyard taking in all the empty space. Why was no one here? "I mean, who are we missing? What haven't we thought of?" Stiles added.

Allison approached the group slowly. "Uh, Jackson's not here."

"Yeah, no ones here." I chuckled glancing around the backyard.

"Maybe, it's just early." Scott offered and I frowned. "Or maybe nobody's coming because Lydia turned into the town whack job."

"Well, we have to do something, because we've completely ignored her for the past two weeks." Allison countered looking around guiltily.

Scott shrugged. "She ignored Stiles for the past ten years."

I rolled my eyes. He always has to bring that up. Now it was Stiles's turn to shrug. "It doesn't bother me anymore." Catching my eye he winked, causing a smile to curl on the edges of my lips.

"Still, we don't owe her a party." Scott retorted.

"What about the chance to get back to normal?" Allison questioned. "She wouldn't be the town wack job if it wasn't for us."

The three of us sighed agreeing with Allison. "I guess I could use my co-captain status to get the lacrosse team here." Scott supplied pulling his phone out of his pocket.
