Chapter 10

Simons POV

Since the day I and my ex girlfriend broke up, I never smiled and talked that nicely to someone except for my family and that is just once in s blue moon. My parents and my siblings are getting mad at me because of my actions but they can't even stop me from what I am doing because I am old enough and I am not getting myself into trouble naman because of it. Until I met this girl, she applied for the company. I don't know what is in her but she got my attention, during her interview I treat her just like the others but after that, I can't handle to treat her that way so I treat her nicely. I only treat her that way and I am happy that I do because seeing her smile makes me happy as well as if I am attached to her feelings. If she is happy, I am also happy and the same thing if she is not and that made me wanted to make her happy.

Here I am right now driving her to her other work. She is a singer in a resto bar as she said and I wanted to hear her sing. I park at the resto bar and went inside with her. Hindi naman gaaning kaingay dito since there are also people who are here just to eat.

Upo ka muna dito Si. Magpapalit muna ako then I will assist the new singer and then lets have dinner. I know hindi ka pa din nag didinner. She said and pointed me a seat near the window na kita ang mini stage. I nodded at her and she smiled at me. Those genuine smile of hers that I really like seeing. I already sat down. I'll be back in a bit. She said to me.
I'll wait for you here. I said and smiled at her genuinely. Genuine smiles that I would only show to her. She just nodded and left.

My phone rang and I checked it to see who is calling and it was mom.

Hello mom! I said as I answered the call.
Where are you son? Nag over time kana naman ba? Mom asked me.
I'm at a resto bar right now mom. I answered her.
What? Are you drinking right now? She said with his voiced raised.
I am not drinking mom. Hinatid ko lang po yung friend ko who is working here. I said to her.
Friend? Kailan ka pa kumausap ng friend ulit Simon? And your friend is working at a resto bar? Mom asked me. Since I and my ex girlfriend broke up, I chose to be alone most of the time. I don't even talk to my old friend anymore.

Why didn't any of us knows about that new friend of yours and she Simon? Your new friend is a girl? Mom asked me and I saw Eli walked out from the staffs area wearing jeans and a black shirt and went to the mini stage and instructed  the girl who is waiting for her there.
I will talk about that next time mom. Its getting noisy here and she is going to be here in awhile. I answered mom. The instruments started to play na kase as Eli and the other girl is talking.
Simon don't you dare go home drunk. Pagbabantang sabi ni mom saakin.
I will not drink mom. We will just eat dinner and I will just watch her sing. I answered mom.
Make sure of that Joseph Simon Araneta Marcos. Mom said. I know na nagaalala lang si mom saakin but I can handle myself naman na ngayon. Hindi na ako tulad ng dati na I will get into trouble because I was so drunk.
Its getting noisier here mom. I'll talk to you soon. Bye. I love you. I said to her and ended the call. Nagsisimula na kasing kumanta yung kasama ni Eli.

I was expecting Eli to sing but she is not singing and just observing and just whispering something sa girl from time to time. My attention was caught when a girl approached my table. She is not working here sa resto bar since hindi siya naka uniform so that means customer din siya dito.

Hi pogi, need a company? She said and sat at the chair infront of me. I just didn't bother to talk to her. Wag ka nang pakipot pogi. She said while nilalari yung buhok niya. Gosh! This kind of girls, I can't really stand this one kaya napakunot na lang ang noo ko. I saw Eli approaching here and she mouthed I got you. The other girl can't see her kase nasa bandang likod siya nung girl.
Babe sorry for waiting. Are you alright here? She asked and smiled at me. I can't imagine that she is saving me from this annoying girl infront of me.
I'm fine babe. I said and smiled at her sinasakyan ko na siya sa trip niya para mapaalis na yung girl. Eli faced the girl infront of me.
Excuse me miss, I think you are sitting in my place. She said to the girl. She even raised one of her eye brows at her.
Sorry, All I thought he was all alone. She said and awkwardly smiled.
Don't assume things girl. This place isn't providing this kind of services and give some respect to yourself. If a guy didn't approach you that means he is not interested in you so don't make yourself look like a cheap girl who is willing to sell herself. She said to the girl. I didn't know na may ganyan pala siyang side. Mataray at matapang but in a right way and I like that. Girls who can stand for themselves.
What did you say? The girl said and glared at her. Sino ba namang hinde kase ininsulto ni Eli ang babae.
You heard what I said and I know you got my point. Just leave. She said and ordered the girl. Oh! Ang tapang ni Eli. Ni hindi ko na kailangan na magsalita, she can make the girl leave without my help. The girl stood up and padabog na umalis, she even gave Eli a death glare.
Sorry about that. Eli said as she sat sa chair kung saan naka upo yung girl kanina.
Its totally fine Eli and thank you. I said to her.
May mga customers lang talagang ganon. Kapag makakakita ng gwapo, grab the opportunity na kung papatulan sila. She said and shook her head.
I know, I have been places like this several times before. I said
Why? She shortly asked.
Because of my ex girlfriend. I sadly answered her. I don't really want to talk about it right now.
You don't have to talk about it if you are not comfortable yet. She said and smiled at me.
I just... I said and she cutt me off.
You don't have to tell the story if you don't want to talk about it. I understand you. She said and smiled at me.
Thank you Eli. I said and smiled at her. Not a genuine smile but a smile that can assured her I am fine.
Lets just eat. Ako na ang oorder. She said and I just nodded. Mas alam naman niya ang mga bagay dito sa resto bar kesa saakin.

After that kumain lang kame and she went back sa stage and siya naman na yung kumanta. She has those angelic voice na maiinlove ka kapag narinig mo. Who would not like her? She is smart, kind and had a lot of talents but what is important to me is that she respects my personal space. After I and my ex girlfriend broke up, i got depressed and went to different bars and clubs just to drink. Friends and my family would always let ask me to tell them what happened and forced myself to be okay. She had shown me that she is not like that earlier. She didn't force me to tell her the story because she knew I wasn't comfortable with it. She would let me feel that she is there with me but she didn't ask for details of what I am going through. Eli is different and as much as possible I wanted to keep her.
