Chapter 8

Everything went well with my work here in the company. I am having a lot of eyes on me since nakikita nila na madalas lumalapit saakin si sir Simon and I approach him most of the time din about dun sa help that I offered him. I can do it all by myself but I still do feel the need of consulting him because its his company. He do agree with my plans naman and he even gave me some ideas that I would say really helped me since he knew the company and their clients more than I do and he do really help me. Same thing pa din naman ang ginagawa ko, share works with Amanda and at the same time ginagawa ko yung special work ko and at night nagtatrabaho pa din ako sa resto bar. Managable naman yung time ko and thankfully after nung first day na late ako, hindi na akong na late ulit. Kakatapos lang namin mag lunch and ready to work again.

Eli? Amanda called me.
Yes? I answered her.
Madami pa tayong gagawin ngayon. She said to me.
Bakit madami pa? Madami na tayong natapos kanina ah? I asked her.
Weekend na kase bukas kaya need na natin matapos lahat ng paper works at files since kailangan na tong ipasa mamaya and need pa natin tong ipasa kay sir Simon at sa head ng sales. She said to me.
Hati na tayo sa trabaho at kung sino yung unang matapos, tutulungan na lang yung hindi pa. I said to her.
Okay lang ba sayo? She asked me.
Okay lang. I said to her.
Pano yang ginagawa mo? She asked me.
Wala naman tong deadline yan meron so unahin na natin yan. I said to her.
Okay! Ikaw na bahala magpasa nung files at hard copy kay sir Simon at ako na sa head ng sales. She said and I nodded.
Amanda? I called her.
Hhhmmm. She hummed for her response because she is focused on her work and so do I.
Why is the sales head so strict? I asked her.
Who wouldn't be? Parati silang napapagalitan ni sir Simon and as what you see, lalong bumababa yung sales ng company. She replied.
Its easy to make things work without being that strict. I said.
For her its not because the pressure is on her as she is the head. She answered.
I know that but to be honest its not working out because her team is messing up much more due to the pressure from her and sir Simon. I said.
Wag na lang nating pakealaman yan Eli. Just do your job. She answered. I know she is just concerned about me because she doesn't want me to get into trouble.
You know I can't. I was thought by my father how to raise a company and how to make the employees productive and I just can't stand that this company is slowly going down just like that. I answered her.
You never listened to what I am saying to you but just always remember to take a step back when you know you will get into trouble. She said and I nodded and smiled at her.

I focused on doing my work and the others are busy doing theirs also. There are a lot to be fix and done kase we are finishing the soft copies for it to be able to be printed already. To be honest, hindi naman ako nahihirapan sa trabaho ko even though I am working under the pressure of deadline right now because feeling pressured wont help me finish my work on time, it would just make me make a mess just like what is going on right now in the sales department. Their head is roaming around and yelling at them, I am getting irritated sa ginagawa niya kase mas lalong ngiging aligaga yung members niya sa ginagawa niya. I don't want to interfere so I am just doing my best to ignore her and focus on my work. Just like what Amanda said, she is strict so I need to distance myself from her for me not to get in trouble. Tatlo lang kame sa Accounting department. Ako, si Amanda at si Grace. Wala kameng head kase sabi ni Amanda saakin may kanya kanyang trabaho naman kameng ginagawa and derecho namin yung pinapasa sa sales head at kay sir Simon so no need to have a head. Its home time but we are all not yet done with our works. Malapit na naman akong matapos and also Amanda and Grace mga 2-3 pages each na lang ang kulang then tapos na kame.I saw sir Simon coming out from his office.

Seems like no one finished their works on time as usual. He said in his cold voice. You all know what's going to happen now. He added. I don't know what he is talking about.
Anong mangyayari? Bulong kong tanong kay Amanda.
Overtime. She shortly answered and I just nodded.
Go back to your works and I want it all in my table. He said and went to the sales department area.
Ms. Rivera I still haven't seen any output from your department until now. He said to the head of the sales department with his serious cold voice. Rinig hanggang dito yung boses niya. No wonder kung bakit medyo takot yung employees niya sa kaniya.
I'm sorry for the delay sir. She uttered.
Sorry? Its been awhile since you became the head of the sales. Until now the sales are still and continuously going down. He angrily said to her.
I'm really sorry sir, we are working on it right now. She nervously said while her head bowed down. No wonder she is hard at her members pero mas maaayos ang lahat kung hindi siya sasabay sa mood ni sir.
Make sure this time, you come up with something that has sense. He said to her. OMG! If those words where said to me? My heart would be crushed by now.
Y-yes sir. She said. She even stuttered while answering him.

After the conversation with the sales department head, he went back to his office. He is not only hard on his self but also to the people around him. I really wanted to help him even more knowing na may tao na siyang nasasaktan from his words and actions. I know he is a good man because he is good to me and I know he is too to his family but he is so hesitant to trust and loosen up his self to others and I do understand why.

Eli? Amanda called me.
Yes? I asked her.
Are you okay? She asked me.
I'm fine. I said to her.
You're fine? You are holding your chest and your breathing heavily. She asked and said to me.
I'm fine. They are just giving me too much emotions. I said to her.
Drink your water and just don't mind them. She said to me and uminom ako ng tubig.
I'm fine now. Lets just continue our work para makauwi na din tayo. I said to her and she just nodded and we go back to our works.
