Chapter 5 - The Decision

The show flew by and when I looked at the time it was way passed midnight, I started cleaning up the conference room and getting ready to go when I heard the door open, I turned and looked right into the ice blue eyes, I smiled and let out a deep sigh, calming myself that it wasn't the caramel eyes looking into mine. "Hi Jay, amazing show as always!" He smiled, that warm calming smile and said, "Thanks, the crowd were amazing as usual, always good to have the interaction. So, have you thought about my offer?"

I looked up at him from picking up something from the carpet and said "Yes, I have had some time to think about and I would love to join the crew, it's definitely been an amazing experience these past few days, so I accept the offer", I didn't expect it but he walked up to me and gave me a hug, I felt the calming aura all around him, being in his presence really is a strange thing to explain. I wish I could do a better job telling you about it, but just know that he is.... what you expect.

He stepped away and told me about the plan "We are going to be leaving in 5 days, we need to get all the paperwork done, I want you at the hotel tomorrow at 10AM, our lawyers will be there to finalise your contract and sort out the flights and other details that's needed." "Great, I look forward to it, and thank you so much, this is a real dream come true for me, you really have no idea how much this means", I smiled and he said something really strange "Oh I do understand, I am sure my brother feels the same" and with that he turned and walked out, closing the door behind him. I kept playing what he said over in my mind trying to understand what he meant, why would he mention his brother, I thought about the touch again, I thought about those caramel eyes and I felt a shiver running over my body. I shook my head to clear it and finished up in the conference room.

As I walked out to my car I heard someone yelling my name "Charley! Charley!" I turned and saw Em running out towards me, "Hey, sorry I totally forgot to give you your goodie bag, I hear you accepted the offer! I am so excited, it's going to be awesome to have someone around to chat to" she smiled and I couldn't help but smile as well "Yea, I did, I am super excited about it, it's an amazing opportunity, I will see you tomorrow morning?". She gave me a hug and said "Yup, we will be at the hotel, I will be there at about 9:30, maybe we can grab a coffee before?", "Yea, sure sounds good!" I smiled. As she walked off she waved "See you then!" and she disappeared back into the venue.

As I stood there, still not sure if I was dreaming or if all of this was real, I smiled to myself, as I turned to open the car door I felt eyes on my back, I turned slowly and looked up from where I felt someone looking at me and saw a figure on the balcony, I couldn't see exactly who it was in the dark, but I could feel the familiar fire in my stomach, as he turned I saw the glint of an electronic cigarette and the smoke coming from where his mouth would be and he walked inside.

I opened the car door quickly and got in, sitting there for a moment, breathing deeply as I felt myself shaking, I couldn't think and my mind was whirling with thoughts and ideas. He was staring at me, but why? Why didn't he just say something? He must have heard I had accepted the offer! What does that mean, why would he just stand there and stare at me? 

As I drove home that night, these thoughts didn't stop circling in my mind, all I could think of was tomorrow, seeing him, and signing a contract that will change my life, forever!
