I quickly brushed the tears off my face as the door opened. 'Paige? Where did you—' Sunstreaker stopped in his sentence. 'Why is it dark in here? It's 9 PM,' he snorted. I heard him approached. 'I am tired.' He huffed and sat down on the edge. 'Uhm, right and it has nothing to do with my little eruption?' He mocked. 'No, why wouldn't it?' I snorted. 'Because I told you quite rudely what I think about dating you or a human in general,' he snapped. 'Why do you always need to snap? I am trying to sleep.' He grunted and switched on the lights. 'Yeah, that's what I thought. You've been crying,' he muttered. I didn't respond. 'Of course you did. What? Can't you handle the truth?' He mocked. I didn't reply.
'The thought is just hideous, Paige. Do you really see me date a human?! Do you really see me date you?' He mocked. 'No, of course not...' he raised a brow. 'Then why are you so upset?' He asked. 'I am not n my period...' I sulked. 'Again? Damn, I start to have pity with you,' he mocked. I rolled my eyes and curled up. 'I am not leaving until I know the truth,' he stated. 'I guess you stay here with me then,' I murmured. 'I know why you're sad but I want you to say it,' he whispered and brushed some strands from my face. 'I don't like your rude side.'
'You knew you would get the full package when decided to stay here and it never bothered you before.' I rolled on my back. 'I am just an idiot. I threw everything away for a stupid fantasy. It's too good to be true...' he sighed softly. 'I am that 'fantasy' of yours?' He asked. 'I've always been a misfit. Never really fit in a group or was part of anything. I talk to much and they find it annoying. No one loves me... and then... I saw you for the first time—' I cut myself off. 'And then you fell in love with me which was a stupid thing itself and now you're heart broken because you know I hate humans and would never even consider dating one?' He asked.
'Something like that...'
'Be heart broken for a while. Perhaps it will help you heal quicker,' he replied and slid off the bed. 'Then what are we?' He turned. 'I don't know... roommates maybe?' He asked. I laid my head back down. 'Come on, Paige. You knew from the start that I am not interested in dating a femme. I hate them!'
I nodded. 'Goodnight, Sunstreaker.' He walked up to the door and slammed it shut behind him. I had a restless sleep, I kept thinking about his words. The next morning, we hadn't much to say either. Sunstreaker barely paid attention to me. 'I am going to the base and continue my training today,' I said after a long silence. 'You think that's a good idea? He questioned. 'It's my choice, Sunstreaker.'
He raised a brow as I got up. 'You don't speak to me that way!' I gazed into his direction. 'Oh, I am sorry.' It came out more sarcastic than I wanted. 'What the hell is wrong with you today,' he scowled while rolling his icy blue eyes. 'Nothing.' I finished my daily routine and made myself ready to leave. Sunstreaker grabbed his car keys, even he didn't necessarily needed them. 'What are you doing? are you going to the base too?'
'No, just dropping you off.'
'Doesn't have too. I walk,' I stated. He raised a brow. 'But I am offering you a ride,' he said confused. 'And I reject your offer. I walk,' I repeated more firmly. 'Do I needed to remind you what Ben did to you? I don't think your physically good enough to go back to your training anyway. Ratchet hasn't given you the green light yet,' he stated. 'Then I'll visit him first and get my green light,' I scowled. 'You are not walking. End of discussion. Next time, I find you in several pieces next the road,' he snapped.
'As if you care!'
My cranky and rude come back took him by surprise and honestly, I was shocked as well. I've never had an eruption like this before. He stepped closer,— grabbing my jaw and forced me to look at him. 'I think it's better for you to stop talking to me like that. You're really testing my patience, Paige,' he growled. His lips were close but I managed to control myself. 'I walk...' I whispered. 'Don't tempt me, Paige. There's no discussion about it. You're not walking! Now get your aaa in the garage,' he snapped.
The ride was quiet. None of us said anything. It's odd for me to be quiet and it drove him crazy. He kept clawing at his steering wheel. Once arrived at the base, I unbuckled and hopped out, slamming his door shut. 'Hey!' Sunstreaker hopped out as well. 'No saying goodbye?' He asked and threw his arms in the air. 'See you soon,' I grumbled and rolled my eyes. 'What the hell is your problem, Paige! First you're disrespectful and now you're slamming my door shut and don't say goodbye,' he snapped. 'Yeah...' I snorted and walked off.
I didn't went to see Ratchet first and went straight back to my training. Honestly, it was tough. More than I had expected it to be. I sipped from my bottle of water until a pissed off CMO marched over to me. 'Paige! What the hell do you think you're doing?!' He snapped out his hands on his hips. 'Continuing my training,' I replied. 'No! You're done here. I haven't declared you healthy yet. I won't allow you to get beaten up again or shot. You don't belong here, Paige. You're not made for combat. Go home and get some rest,' he sulked and waved his hand.
'Don't belong here?' I repeated angrily. Ratchet glanced at me. I was more hurt than actually mad. 'You too?!' I snapped before turning on my heels. 'It's my choice!' I shouted and stormed off.
