The race was postponed. Was the next information we got after we went out for the formation lap. So, I came back to the garage and sat in in a corner waiting.
After almost an hour of waiting I went up to one of the mechanics: "Hey, sorry would it be possible for me to borrow that heating blanket over there?" I gestured to an empty tire blanket, "Im freezing my butt off." I explained.
"Be my guest." He said nodding.
I got the still warm blanket and sat on one end covering myself with the other to keep warm. Watching the people in the garage doing their work my eyelids got heavier and not even five minutes later I was curled up in a ball on the floor fast asleep.
I dont know how long I slept but the next thing I remember is Simon waking me up and telling me to get ready. They had fitted wet tires onto the car, and we were to start the race under the safety car.
I warmed up again and got into the car soon after. Queueing in the pitlane all of us waited for the light to go green.
"Light on and away we go I guess." I tried to make a joke which just got me a sighing Simon.
"That was the worst joke I ever heard."
"Sorry guys." I giggled focusing on the track again.
After the podium ceremony I went to the team and celebrated Maxs win (with a considerable amount of alcohol). Some of the team members, drivers and I set a date to go out partying and just having a good time in Monaco during the summer break and that following day we all went our separate ways.
Two weeks later we met again for a week of partying and just spending time together. I got to Monaco as one of the first ones (apart from the ones already living there) and checked into my hotel room where I got ready for our first day together.
I packed my bag for the beach and another outfit just in case before heading out to Daniels place who would be one of the people driving us around today. On this short walk I got stopped by fans repeatedly and it took half an hour longer than I expected.
As I finally walked up to Daniels front door ringing the bell continually until he let me in. I already knew what floor he was on since I had been there before so I quickly greeted him and the other people that were already there and we waited for the last guys to arrive before we headed to the harbour.
Apparently one of the other drivers had a Yacht there we could use to leave the curious looks of the onlookers behind.
When we finally anchored and started to chat and swim until we got tired and parted ways to get ready to go out partying (apparently Charles knew a place we could go without the media getting wind of it).
After a relaxing shower, doing my hair and makeup and packing some money my phone and some necessities in a small bag I changed into my little black satin slip on dress and some black strappy heels (I chose some taller ones, so I wasnt too small). I checked my appearance one last time before walking out of the lobby of the hotel where Charles and Lando were already waiting for me in their taxi.
"We halted at a high society club in the centre of Monaco and met the others in the VIP area. Whats up you guys?" I screamed over the music
The only answer I got was a ton of screams and cheers. I had decided to not drink anything tonight and rather make sure everyone got to their respective hotels and flats safely. I would drink another day.
I went dancing with Pierre, Charles, Mick, Daniel, Lando and Max after my first mocktail. Needless to say, when my favourite song came on all my doubts were gone and I danced like my heart depended on it.
Well my resolution to not drink didnt last long and a few hours later I was tipsy. All restraints were gone when Max, Charles and Pierre promised to take a few tequila shots with me (I was a sucker for tequila). We left the Club at two oclock and Lando walked me to my hotel, even after I told him I would have been fine alone, where I fell into bed and slept until the sun was high upon the sky the next day.
After a nice afternoon of food with the few of the others who werent hungover, we decided on an evening in Dannys flat. It got late again, and I drank again (some of the guys who took the same number of shots as I did were passed out on the floor when I left for the hotel). Some of them were really lightweights when it came to alcohol.
The third night there we went to another club. Today I was the driver and responsible to get all of the others back safely and in one piece. But it came a lot differently than we all expected.
"Lets go!" Charles yelled when we got through the security on the entrance.
"Hey Baby! Wanna have a drink with me?" a tall blonde guy asked me while hanging his arm around my shoulder.
"No thank you. Im good." I said peeling his arm off me.
"Come on! Im gonna take real good care of you! "
"I dont think my boyfriend will be happy to hear that." I lied looking around for anyone to help me.
"He doesnt have to know Baby!" he came closer to me, and I could smell the alcohol in his breath from a mile away.
"Id rather not risk it thank you." I said turning around and leaving the man behind.
"You bitch dont know what youre missing!" he shouted at my back, but I just ignored the comment and went to look for the others at the bar where they had their first drink.
"You, okay?" Mick asked after downing his first whiskey.
"Yep. Do they have good mocktails?" I dismissed his question.
"I dont know but they should have redbull I think?" he answered.
I took a seat at the bar having a look out for my friends and deep in conversation with Lando and Pierre as I saw the guy from the entrance making another woman uncomfortable. I searched for her eye contact and shot her a look asking, do you want me involved?
I got a help look back and promptly stood up taking my drink not even bothering to answer the questions from the other drivers.
