Alex stared dead into the eyes of Lucifer, the king of demons.
"Oh wow it actually worked."
"What for did you summon me? Tell me what you desire, riches, revenge, power, whatever it is you want I will give it to you. For a price of course. Just tell me what you-"
"A friend!"
"...Excuse me?"
"Oh.. my go- I'm so sorry! I interrupted you!" Their face flushed bright red in embarrassment.
"No I- what?" You know, you would probably think it would be impossible for a giant mound of darkness to look flustered but somehow it did. "You summoned me, the king of all demons, to be your friend?"
"Yeah."
"Why?!"
"I don't know, I just want a friend."
"And you chose the devil as your friend?!"
"Yeah."
"What the hell..." The devil muttered quietly, "Ok sure, fuck it, what are the conditions to this contract you wish to propose?"
"Be my friend and make me feel happy."
He sighed miserably "And what do I get?"
"My soul."
