Walking Privileges

Alex stumbled into the kitchen, half asleep and still rubbing their eyes.

However, they stopped dead in front of the kitchen counter.

Why? Oh Because there was already a whole tray stacked full with steaming hot food.

Again.

Alex surveyed the plate, fruits covered the right side, in the middle was a large omelet, and on the left there was a big waffle with little syrup bottles next to it. A berry smoothie was placed in the corner of the tray.

After the incident a few weeks ago Alex had pretty much started avoiding him and he did the same. However, he was obviously still watching and interacting with them.

Whenever Alex had dirty clothes, the second they turned their back the clothes would suddenly be clean, folded and back in their original place. If this wasn't already obvious enough, all the clothes smelled exactly like Lucy, they all smelled like a campfire that had died out a few hours ago. The scent of smoke clung to most of their clothing at this point.

He had also taken to making all of their meals and they always included way too much food and it always included something healthy.

In short, it was like having an invisible servant who did literally everything.

After eating as much of the food as they could, they shuffled their way to their door. Even if they weren't really on speaking terms at the moment Alex still tried to follow all the little things Lucy had wanted them to do, like eat healthy, drink water and get regular exercise.

They slipped on their shoes and sighed as they stared reluctantly at the door, hesitant to go out and interact with the outside world. After all, staying inside was far more comfortable and most importantly there were no people indoors.

Just as they were about to open the door a low voice spoke up, unmistakably Lucy's, "It's cold out today, wear a jacket."

For a brief moment Alex debated being petty and purposely acting as if they hadn't heard him but they ended up wordlessly grabbing a jacket that was hanging by the door and slipping it on.

It turned out he had been telling the truth, the cold morning air stung their exposed skin as they wandered along the sidewalk. They breathed out heavily, watching their breath turn white in the frosty air.

A surprising amount of cars were on the road considering how early it was. Alex pondered over why they would be driving at this time as they wandered along the side of the road. Perhaps they had a job that started early, or some sort of event like a big breakfast was happening and that's why there were so many people.

It was still dark enough out for the street lights to still be on, the lights cast an eerie glow onto the sidewalk and road, as they walked they couldnt help but think how fucking aesthetic they were being right now.

Like they felt like the main character, walking down the sidewalk in the dark looking all tragic,it felt like a scene out of a book. It just so happened that while they were lost in the thought of how dramatic and beautiful it was, they tripped over their own feet and fell face first into the concrete.

Alex layed there for a hot second, processing what had just happened and then practically wilting. They hurried to get up but felt a sharp pain in their ankle and yelped, clutching it with their hands and pushed their head against their knees, blinking away tears.

They felt strong arms wrap around them, hoisting them up. Alex breathed in the familiar smokey smell and felt the pain of their leg almost instantly fade away.

"Lucy, I'm fine! Just put me down!" Alex covered their face in embarrassment and tried to wiggle out of his grip as he carried them bridal style down the street.

He grunted and readjusted his grip on them to hold them tighter. "Shut up, you're not fine now stop struggling." Lucifer frowned down at his contractor, "Last time I let you walk on your own you hurt yourself, so you no longer get walking privileges."

"But everyone can see us! Put me down, this is too awkward!"

"I'm not letting you go, Alex."

The pair of them were silent for a moment, the meaning behind his words sinking in fully as he refused to meet their gaze.

Alex sniffled and wiped their eyes on his shirt, "This is why I don't go outside you old fart."

Guys I have an apology for the last chapter:

Fun fact: Every time God sees Lucifer, He tries to hug him, convert him or send him "good vibes" and while Lucy does hate it, he really doesn't mind it and would probably be really concerned if He didn't do it
