The story of Cassie winning her first case had traveled throughout the office. Everyone had congratulated her, the junior associates had taken her to dinner, her father Mr. Rowan had thrown her dinner and bought her a new watch to tell her how proud he was of her, and most importantly, her boss Charles had given her his approval.

Cassie is seated at her desk when she received an email invite from her boss to go to a big fancy event that Saturday night. She immediately responded without thinking twice. Charles then sent her a follow-up email to come to his office. She immediately jumps off her seat and struts into his office.

"Do you know who Jason Statham is?" Charles ask. "Of course I do, he's like in every action movie," Cassie says. Confused as to why they were talking about Jason Statham.

"Good, well he's a friend of mine, I've helped him with a case before. He and his wife are throwing a party at Hollywood Boulevard this weekend. I saw that you accepted the invite so you're coming with me then." Charles says. Cassie gasped. She had no idea the invite she just accepted was to an exclusive party like that. Even when she was an actress she had never been invited to a part where Jason Statham would be there.

"Uh-yea, definitely. I'm there." Cassie says.

"Great! Usually, I bring my wife to these things but she hates it and I thought it would be a good place for you to build connections. There would be a lot of potential clients there. Anita has some cards printed out for you with your name and everything, make some connections and pass your card around." He says.

"Really?" Cassie asks in disbelief. Was she now one of them? A serious lawyer?

"Yea, just don't make it too obvious, know when to slide it in. Parties are where we network." Charles says. So much to prepare for. Thought Cassie, but the most important thing in her head was "What do I wear?" She thinks out loud.

"You mean the attire? You worked in Hollywood, do you not know how to dress for a Hollywood party?" Charles ask. "Of course, I do" Cassie didn't want to say much afraid he might think she is not ready to go to a party like this and change his mind about bringing her.

Cassie arrives at the party with Charles as she begins to take in the mansion they pull up in front of. A valet opens the car door and offers his hand for her to take. Cassie steps out of the car in a beautiful gold shimmery bareback, flowy dress, and a pair of open-toed gold high heels. She had her dark hair straightened and tied in a low ponytail that fell to the middle of her back. Charles steps out of the limo he hired for them and puts his arm out for Cassie to take.

"Are you ready?" He asks as more people pull up and began walking toward the majestic entrance of the mansion. Cassie takes a look around and notices some familiar faces of people she has met in the industry and couldn't help the sudden thought of what if he was here. "Hey, are you okay?" Charles asked, slightly concerned. "Uh-yeah, I'm fine. Let's go in" Cassie says, trying to ignore the knot in her stomach as she pulls herself together.

As soon as they get in, Charles is immediately, greeted by many people and he takes the opportunity to introduce Cassie who as usual, was able to charm them away. She hugged and greeted and managed to pass her card to people who asked her what she did, at some point she was separated from Charles as he had gone to the washroom. This didn't stop her from mingling. Cassie was a people person especially when she needed to.

The whole time, she couldn't shake off the odd feeling that she was being watched she kept glancing around the room but couldn't seem to find anyone who maybe is watching her. Part of her was worried it may be him, Jake. He would be at a party like this. Cassie realizes she needed to calm down as she takes a deep breath tilting her head a little bit to the back, only to realize someone was indeed staring at her. She wasn't crazy. Someone was watching her from the top floor balcony that overlooked the living room. But it wasn't Jake.
