Chapter 39

Sebastian has been so preoccupied with finding something on Jake that he could use to bring him down, other past victims of his, any drug usage, fraud or anything he could find and use to get back at Jake one way or another for what he did to Jess, but for the past few years, he's been clean. Which frustrated Sebastian. He was so consumed by this that he hadn't spoken or texted Cassie much which somehow worked out well in her favour as she has been avoiding him.

Both were doing something they didn't want the other to know, therefore neither was bothered by the lack of contact from the other. 

"Excuse me, Mr Steele," Sebastian is startled by the knock on the door by his assistant.  "I've got Mr Dickson on the line for you. Can I patch him through?" she asks as she stands in his doorway. "Ah, yes, I'll speak to him now." He says enthusiastically. Sebastian has been waiting to speak to Mr Dickson, someone he believes could help him bring down Jake. 

"Dickson, my good man! Are you free to meet me today?" Sebastian asked and proceeded and Mr Dickson gave him some information on the other line. He nodded and took the information down on a piece of paper. "Yes, I know where that is, I'll see you there one. Thank you". He says and hangs up.

Meanwhile, Cassie is still waking up from her sleepover at Caroline's. "Okay, I got to go to work, I got a meeting at ten. Caroline says as she gets dressed to leave her apartment. "What are your plans for today?" She asked Cassie. Cassie has been in contact with a few people from the industry since Sebastian's party, but she had halted all meetings while she was in England and is finally back and ready to jump onto the next project.

"I'm meeting a writer today who wants to pitch me a movie. I'm meeting him at one o'clock for lunch at Bianca's." Cassie says, "Oh I love that place, we should do lunch there sometime. Get the chicken parmesan it's so good." Caroline says as she applies finishing touches to her lips. Cassie rolls her eyes. "Anyway, I hope the writer has something good for you, and make sure they cast Ryan Gosling. Whatever the character is, go with Ryan, they can't go wrong with him." She says in a serious tone as she picks up her handbag to leave. "Okay, I'll remember that." Cassie agrees sarcastically. "All the best with your 'ten o'clock'. " Cassie yells at her as she exits the apartment.

"Dickson, thank you for meeting me," Sebastian says, as he gets up from the bar he was seated at, to shake Mr Dickson's hand. "It's no problem at all,". He says as he joins Sebastian at the bar. "What can I get you to drink," Sebastian asks, as he gestures to the bartender. "Ah, I'll have whatever he's having," He says to the bartender, gesturing to Sebastian's neat scotch. 

No longer than ten minutes into their discussion, Sebastian notices a familiar face walk into the restaurant bar and is ushered by the hottest to a table with another young man. For a second there, Sebastian thought he was seeing things. Did he miss her so much he was starting to see her there when she wasn't? "Errm Sebastian," Dickson calls, breaking him out of his thoughts. Sebastian hadn't realised that he had completely drifted off and drowned out Mr Dickson completely. "I'm so sorry, could you give me 2 minutes, I see someone here I need to say hello to. I'll be right back. Please order another round, it's on me." He says and Dickson nods as Sebastian begins to walk over to the table of the girl he believes was supposed to be in London at this very moment.

He was confused, upset, and annoyed to see her here with some guy. What was going on? He thought to himself. He needed answers. 

"Cassie?" He calls as he's about 3 feet away from her table. Cassie and Ben the writer, both glanced up at him. She was shocked to see Sebastian. She was not expecting this at all. She planned to call him or surprise him at the office later today, she was not expecting this. "Sebastian!" She exclaims. "I'm sorry Ben, one second" She says as she abruptly and nervously jumps out of her seat and pulls Sebastian to the side so their exchange can be in private.
