Trap music was pumping through the club where Jake had decided to throw his 27th birthday party. He had DJ Khalid, and Martin Garrix handle music at his party, and he had many other celebrities and models show up. Cassie was seated at the bar facing in trying to block away the party going on behind her. She was not in a party mood as she had just had a huge fight with Jake. Cassie had planned a more intimate dinner party for Jake with their close friends but Jake had seemed more interested in having a huge party inviting girls Cassie had always felt uncomfortable with. "They are my friends' babe and if you're going to be so insecure all the time, this is not going to work." was what Jake had to say to Cassie when she brought up her dislike.

Cassie never wanted to be a jealous girlfriend but with Jake, it proved to be an impossible emotion to avoid. All he ever does is make her question the relationship, or question herself. Cassie takes a sip of her Sauvignon Blanc letting the cool crisp liquid slide down her throat as she braces herself and spins around in her chair to face the party. From a distance, she could see Jake, the love of her life dancing and grinding against some gorgeous brunette she had never met before. Part of her felt like going up to him and pulling them apart and letting him know how frustrated she was with him for acting like this. But part of her also knew he would only remind her that she was young and needed to grow up and have more of an open mind. This was one of Cassie's struggles. Being 6 years younger than Jake, made her feel inferior or less than. It made her feel like she still had a lot to learn and understand about Hollywood or adult relationships. After all, she was only 21 and hadn't had an adult boyfriend since high school.

"Hey you, wanna dance?" A man's voice breaks Cassie out of her thoughts. She looks to her right to see a tall and handsome chocolate dude she recognized but couldn't pinpoint from where. "Umm, no thanks I'm fine." She says folding her arms to signal she was not interested. "Oh come on. It's a party and I love this song. Don't tell me this song doesn't make you want to move." He teases her as he slowly grabbed her arms and began moving his hips and pulling her with him to the dance floor. Cassie was about to fight back when she noticed Jake again and thought, 'What the heck. "What's your name?" She screams over the music. "I'm Jason." He screams back. "I'm Cassie." She replies as he held on to her hips bringing her closer to him. "I know." He says chuckling. Cassie felt a little uneasy being held this close by another guy that wasn't Jake, but the more she thought about Jake and how he was dancing against the other girl, the more she began to let loose and let Jason spin her around and pull her back to his front.

"Shit, girl you can move," Jason says into her ears. They had begun dancing so close and intimate, that Cassie could feel Jason's hand travel from her waist to her hips as she closed her eyes and tried to ignore the discomfort she felt. Cassie was only doing this as she was angry with Jake and this made her feel like she was getting back at him in some small way. Cassie suddenly felt lips beginning to kiss down her neck and she froze in panic. She quickly pulled away from him "What are you doing?" She ask in shock as she rubbed her neck on the spot he had just kissed her. "I'm sorry, I thought. I" Jason was like deer in headlights and Cassie had realized that she didn't tell Jason she had a boyfriend. She assumed he knew after all this was Jake's party.

"You do know that Jake is my boyfriend right?" Cassie asked him. "What? No way. I mean, he's over there." Jason says as he gestures to another part of the club. Jake was sitting on a large chair and had the same brunette sitting next to him with one leg sprawled on Jake's lap. "What the heck?" Cassie mutters to herself. She was embarrassed and furious she could feel the heat rising in her face as she makes a move to walk over to them. But Jason immediately stops her. "I have a better idea if you want to get to him." He says with a sly look on his face. He pull Cassie back into him wrapping his arms around her waist as their lips were only inches apart. "Don't kiss me." She warns. Pulling her head back a little. "Trust me, I don't have to kiss you, he just needs to catch this and it would break him." He says to her and Cassie laughed.

"I don't understand, what do you even see in him. I know Jake, he's a real douche." Jason says, still holding her and swaying to the music. "Well, I understand him, and him me. He's always there when I need him and he makes me feel safe." She says. "He makes you feel safe? Are you sure?" Jason asked mockingly. "Well, you don't know him as I do." She says when suddenly she felt a firm grip on her forearm and someone had yanked her away from Jason. "What the hell are you doing?" Jake grits. "Hey man, we were just dancing." Jason says coolly as he looks at Cassie and gives her an 'I told you so' smile. "Well, I think that's enough dancing. I'm taking my girl back." Jake says as he pulls Cassie to him. Wrapping his arms around her, Jason walked away from the dance floor. "What is your deal?" She whines trying to pull away from Jake. "My deal is that you are my girlfriend and his holding you like you both were making out or something," Jake says. "It's funny you noticed cause I thought your head was up that brunette's ass." Cassie fights back.

"Baby, she's an old friend I haven't seen her in years," Jake says, trying to reason with her. "I'm your girlfriend Jake and I've been sitting at the bar by myself all night while you act like a single guy at a nightclub. Jason didn't even know you were my boyfriend. Do you know that?" She says angrily. As she tries to pull away from him. "Baby, I'm sorry," Jake says as he wraps one arm around her waist, and with the other, he took her hand that was resting on his chest and began placing kisses on them. He watched her expression as he kissed her fingers, her palm, and the back of her hand and places it on his shoulder. Cassie began to calm down a little and relax in his grip as Jake held the side of her face tilting her head to face his, he gently took her lips in his. He slowly slid his tongue into her mouth and she excepted it. Jake began running his hand on her body as one hand gripped her bum and the other slid into her blouse gripping her waist a little hard she winced and pulled away from the kiss, meeting his eyes that were now dark and hungry. "I love you, Cassie. I really do." He says to her and she nods crashing her lips into his again but this time he pulled away saying "Let's get out of here." Cassie nodded eagerly and she knew they both really needed each other right now.
