Her Fear Of Falling Again

Chapter 11

***Buzz buzz*** Cassie's phone began to ring. "Hello," Jake answered as Cassie was in the shower. "Hi, I'm Jennifer Cassie's agent. Is she there?" She asks. "No, she's in the shower. This is Jake, her boyfriend." He says. "Oh Jake, great. Could you tell her that she got the call back for the Fast and Furious movie and they would like to see her again?" Jennifer says. "Fast and Furious movie? She auditioned for a leading role right." He clarifies. "Yes, yes she did and they loved her. It's down to two people now and they want to see her. Let her know to be at Lot 10 tomorrow at 2 pm" Jennifer says. "Okay, I will," Jake says as he hangs up and immediately goes to her call list and deletes Jennifer's name from the last call list.

"Who were you talking to," Cassie asked as she walked into the living room wrapped in a towel and wiping her hair with another. Jake was taken by surprise as he quickly chucks her phone on the couch and pulls out his phone. "I was just calling the Thai Spa you like, to see if I can get a reservation for us tomorrow," he says, pulling her by the towel and causing her to fall into his lap. "Aww baby, are you sure? I thought you had training for the movie?" She says as she sat on his lap and fidgeted with the button on his shirt. "Well I'll go in the morning so by afternoon we can have a few hours together. You do want to spend the afternoon with me right?" He asks. "Are you kidding? If I could, I would spend every waking moment with you." She says, kissing him on the cheek. 

The next day ~

Cassie had just gotten off the phone with Jennifer. As she waited for Jake to come home with dinner. They had had a lovely day today as he took her to a Thai spa and they had Thai food for lunch, they came home and spent the whole afternoon being in love. Little did she know that he had planned the afternoon to ensure she would not just miss the callback but she would not be attached to her phone to see that Jennifer had tried to call her multiple times.

"Hey babe, I got your favorite Avocado salad with Salmon," Jake says cheerily as he walks into the Penthouse they share. He places the food on the counter and notices that Cassie was paying him no attention. She was simply standing and staring out the large glass window that surrounded their living room. She watched the cars go by as she contemplated how she felt about her new revelation. All she could think of was "WHY". She would do anything to see him successful, why would he sabotage her career. He was also the same guy who got her certain movies which means he wanted her to do well, so why would he do this? 

"Hey, are you okay," Jake whispers into her ears, as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and tucked his face into her neck. Cassie jumped a little at his gesture which took her by surprise but relaxed shortly after. She didn't know how to ask him. "Jake?" She calls softly "Hmm?" He response. Still holding her. "Do you think I could be a successful actress?" She asks. "Of course baby. And the right role is just around the corner. I believe in you." He says kissing her on the cheek. This only made Cassie angrier as she began fuming. "Then why did you sabotage my callback for the 'Fast and Furious' movie today?" She questions. Trying to maintain her calm demeanor. "What?" Jake pretends to be shocked as he pulls away from her and began walking toward the kitchen. "For someone who has an Oscar, you sure are a bad actor. Jennifer called me and she told me she left you a message. That could have been my big break! Why the hell did you do that?!" She shouts at him. Cassie couldn't control her anger anymore. She was pissed. "Baby listen. I'm sorry but I had a reason to do that." He says slowly walking back to her. 

"What possible reason could you have, to take this away from me, and then lie to me about it. This whole day was a lie. You didn't want to spend time with me, you just wanted to make sure I wouldn't get a call and go to the audition." Cassie continued yelling as she paced around the house, tears in her eyes. "No, that's not true. I wanted to spend time with you. And yes, I did ruin the audition for you but Cassie, they shoot in Miami." He said. Cassie stopped in her tracks and looked at him like he was crazy. "So?" She asks. "So, you would be gone for 3 to 6 months. You would be surrounded by all these guys and.."
