After leaving the dinner a little earlier, Sebastian had wandered off to the hotel bar. He was mad at her for not understanding where he was coming from and holding what he did over his head for this long, and if anyone truly messed up, it was her. And yes she spent a whole month trying to apologize and beg and reach out to him, to which he had turned her away but she needed to understand that he was really upset and hurt by all her lying. He was never really upset about the kiss she apparently shared with Jake, he could forgive her when she said it was a split second, it did bother him a little but what bothered him the most was that she kept it from him. And that really changed how he looked at her.
But now, he's over it, and all he wanted was to talk about where they went wrong and how they could fix it and move forward with each other. All he wanted was to walk out of here engaged to the woman he truly loved. Now nothing was going as planned and he knew it wouldn't be long before he had to fly back to LA and go back to work.
Meanwhile, after talking to her dad, Cassie too felt like she needed a drink and decided to go down to the Jazz Bar they had in the hotel where both she and Sebastian were staying at. She walks into the bar and props herself up at the bar. "Good evening Miss, what can I get you?" the bartender asked.
"Ummm, Can I get a glass of Cab Sauv please," She ordered and the bar tendered nodded as he turned around to prepare her to drink.
Sebastian who was also still sitting at the bar instantly recognized that voice and glanced around to see her sitting two people away from him.
"Cassie?" He called and her head instantly snapped in his direction. However this time for some reason, she didn't feel like running away, she was mentally and physically tired and was not in the mood of budging. But instead of acknowledging him, she turned back in her seat and sat there, which Sebastian took as an invitation to go over to her.
"What are you doing here alone? Where's Mike?" He asked as he pulled a stool a little close to her and propped himself on it, sitting sideways and facing her.
Without looking at him, Cassie just shrugged and said "he dumped me." she reached out for the glass of wine placed in front of her and took a sip. Sebastian examined every inch of her face as she sat there still facing the bar and not looking at him. "Was it because of me?" Sebastian asked. "Don't flatter yourself, it had nothing to do with you." She says as her fingers grazed the rim of her wine glass.
They sat in silence for a few seconds as Sebastian had his eyes still locked on her taking in every inch of her face, wishing he could tap into her mind this second and see what was going on. "What's going through your mind?" Sebastian asked, slightly nervous about what she was going to say.
She glanced at him for the first time since their conversation, looking into his eyes. "I miss you." She says and his eyes widen at her statement. He was not expecting that at all. She instantly looks away from him after saying that. "Cassie," He says as he reached out and placed his hand on her thigh comfortingly. She did not push him away but instead sat there as tears began to build in her eyes but she tried to hold them down.
"You were the first person I wanted to tell as soon as I got the movie role. I wanted to take you to the parties I was invited to. I wanted to share all those moments with you and you were not there." She couldn't hold back the tears that began to build even more. "Cassie, I'm sorry." He says as he stroked her thigh comfortingly. This was breaking his heart, seeing her like this.
"All those bad things would not have happened to me if you were just there." She cries. "What bad things? What are you talking about." He asked as his heart began to race and his mind instantly goes back to the day he saw her outside the hotel and she looked like a mess. "Cassie, what happened? What bad things? Does this have anything to do with the day I saw you at the hotel?" He asked and she snapped out of it for a moment and looked at him, trying to remember what he was talking about, and then it hit her. He was referring to the day Jake had raped her and she ran into him at the hotel.
