Cassie ended up spending the night with Sebastian, it was the first time they had made love and connected on a whole new level. "Good morning beautiful," Sebastian says as he steps out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist, walking toward the bed where Cassie was just beginning to open her eyes. "Why are you up so early?" Cassie asks as she stretches.
"Early? It's 9 o'clock and I wanted to make you breakfast." Sebastian says as he slowly walks toward her, admiring her nakedness wrapped under his sheets and her messy hair as proof of their night. "So last night was fun." He says in a deep voice as he seductively crawls onto the bed getting on top of her. "It sure was," Cassie says smiling widely as her finger traced his face. "It's funny how worried you were about not having anything to wear to sleep and here you are on my sheets, butt naked," Sebastian teased as his hands begin to travel under the sheets squeezing her butt causing Cassie to jump and let out a screech. "Get off me." She lets out between giggles, as she squirms to get out from under him. "Sebastian's chest vibrated with laughter as he forcefully held her down and began placing kisses on her exposed neck and shoulder. Which instantly stopped Cassie from squirming.
"I really have to get going," She says holding the side of his face. "But you're having breakfast with me first. Cause I was going to make you my famous scrambled eggs." He says. "They're scrambled eggs, how fancy can you get?" She says. "Oh, they're fancy alright," Sebastian says placing a peck on her cheek.
"I have a toothbrush and a towel for you in the bathroom and I'll see you downstairs in a bit." He says as he gets up from the bed. "Where is my phone?" She asks, "Oh it's charging in the kitchen." He says as he casually drops his towel to look for a pair of briefs. "Sebastian!" Cassie exclaimed covering her eyes. "Are you kidding me? You had no complaints last night." He says as he throws on a pair of briefs. "Just put it away." She says and Sebastian can't help but chuckle.
As Cassie began to clean herself up, Sebastian began cooking in the kitchen when her phone started ringing. "Cassie, your phone..." Sebastian yelled but instantly stopped when he noticed the name on the caller ID that read 'Jake .R.' Sebastian instantly knew who it was but was more interested to know why the hell was he calling her. Cassie said the work they had was over, so there is no reason for him to be calling her. Without thinking, Sebastian answered the call.
"Hello?" He says. "Hi, is Cassie there?" Jake's voice says on the other line.
"Why are you calling her?" Sebastian questions back. "I'm sorry who are you?" Jake asked.
"I'm her boyfriend and why are you calling Cassie," Sebastian asked again. He was fuming on the inside as he gripped the spatula in his hand tightly.
"I just wanted to confirm with her if we're doing dinner next Saturday. Last week at lunch she said she'd love to but didn't confirm a date so that's why I'm calling." Jake says nonchalantly, purposely not including proper details of what went down and what they agreed upon. He knew he was getting a reaction out of Sebastian and loved it.
"What the f**k are you talking about?" Sebastian spits. His heart began pounding as the heat began to rise from his chest. "You know what, you don't sound too good man, so just have her call me when she can. Alright." Jake says and hangs up.
Sebastian was left there with questions swirling around in his head. Was Cassie really hanging out with the guy? He knew she wasn't cheating on him, but the idea of her hanging out with Jake, knowing exactly how Sebastian felt about it, really pissed him off. What made him even madder was that she did not tell him about it. She's having lunch with the guy and apparently promised to have dinner with him. This was way out of line and Sebastian needed answers. Lucky for him, he was about to get them now, as Cassie made her way into his kitchen wearing one of Sebastian's company event T-shirts.
He was still mad but watching her make her way into the kitchen with nothing but his t-shirt on, did give him a slight ego boost. "I hope it's okay, I saw this shirt on a couch in your room and threw it on." She says.
"Did you have lunch with your ex?" Sebastian jumped right into the question, throwing her off guard. "What?" Cassie asked slightly confused as to where he got this information at 9 in the morning. "Don't lie to me, Cassie. Have you been seeing him?" Sebastian asked again trying to remain calm.
"I wasn't going to lie to you. Yes, I did have lunch with him one time after we won the case." Cassie says. "And you didn't think to tell me?" Sebastian asks angrily.
"Cause it wasn't a big deal Sebastian and I knew you would read too much into it and get really mad about it," Cassie says as she walks into the kitchen and props herself on the bar stool where Sebastian was halfway making breakfast.
"Of course, I'd get mad about it, we've been over this and I told you what I thought about the whole thing, and you can't keep something like this away from me and make me look like an idiot in front of him," Sebastian says as he tried not to raise his voice. "What?" Cassie asked even more confused than before.
"Your f**king boyfriend called your phone Cassie and I picked it up. For some reason, he believes you guys have some kind of date set up for next week," Sebastian says. The words rolling out of his mouth made him even more upset and disgusted by the whole situation that he walked out of the kitchen.
Cassie immediately jumped on her feet and ran after him. "Wait, that's not what it is at all. It's not a date." Cassie says trying to grab onto Sebastian's arm but he quickly pulled away, causing her heart to shatter a little.
"His wife asked you and me to dinner," Cassie says softly. "Huh?" Sebastian looked up at her from the couch he was sitting on. "She was so thankful that I managed to get those people to settle and she asked Jake to have us over for dinner next Saturday," Cassie says.
"You have got to be kidding me," Sebastian says, almost laughing. Cassie just shrugged. "Does she know you use to date her husband?" Sebastian asked. "Yea, she does, but maybe she's just mature enough to realize that it was in the past," Cassie says folding her arms.
"Heh, or maybe she's not smart enough to realize that her husband is in love with you," Sebastian says. "You really need to stop saying that 'cause it's not true. Jake truly regrets what he did and just wants to move on and have a mature cordial relationship." She says.
"You should have heard the way he spoke to me on the phone. And I hate the fact that you did not tell me any of this and I had to hear it from him. He was really smug about me knowing that you guys had lunch." Sebastian says shaking his head in a pissed of manner.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but he's got nothing to be smug about Sebastian, I'm with you," Cassie says softly as she knelt in front of Sebastian who was still seated on the couch, and took his large hands in hers, placing a soft kiss on his thumb. This instantly relaxed Sebastian but he couldn't stop the nagging thought that someone else was still in love with the girl he was in love with.
"He's still in love with you Cassie I know he is and that bothers me," Sebastian says. "Well who cares Sebastian, I'm in love with you and that's all that matters anyway," Cassie says without realizing she just admitted to being in love with Sebastian.
"What?" Sebastian asked with his eyes wide open. Cassie's jaw dropped a little as she realized what she had just said. "Did you just say.." he asked and Cassie nodded. This time she was owning it. She couldn't run away or try to avoid this feeling anymore. Sebastian grabbed her by the cheek and crashed his lips into hers. His kiss was desperate and so was Cassie's as she parted her lips and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Say it again please," Sebastian begs as he pulls away from the kiss a little. "I love you Sebastian Stanley" she whispers and he crashed his lips into hers again.
