It was a regular Monday, Cassie had not had any contact with Sebastian for a little over a week now. She was not bothered by it as she knew this was the right thing to do. The little time she spent with Sebastian that night, had affected her and she would be lying if she said she wasn't developing feelings for him too. What annoyed her most was the fact that her dad Mr. Rowan wouldn't stop talking about Sebastian. He was charmed by him which was why Cassie didn't even want them to meet in the first place.

Cassie was glad that work allowed her to be busy mentally and physically which didn't allow her room to think about Sebastian. "Cassie, there's someone here to see you." Amber the receptionist says and turns to walk back to the reception area. Cassie was curious as clients always made appointments and never just showed up. She opens the glass door that separated the office area from the lounge and reception area and her heart drops. It was Jake. Jake Reynolds, the guy who broke her heart. He was here in front of her, in a pair of black skinny jeans and a large white knitted sweater.

"Hey." He says lighting up as soon as Cassie walked through the door. As she looked at him, memories immediately came rushing back. Anger and pain were the primary feelings. Cassie was overwhelmed by so many emotions she couldn't seem to get a word out. "Look I know you're not happy to see me," Jake says slowly walking towards her. "What the hell are you doing here? How did you find me?" She asks as she looked around hoping their exchange wasn't drawing any attention. "That guy at the party that day, he told me who your boss was and so I just looked him up and here I am. I didn't even know you became a lawyer Cassie. I thought you loved acting." Cassie was processing everything Jake was saying to her. She had no idea how to react without making a scene. "You need to leave right now," Cassie says softly but sternly. "Cassie look, I know you're still mad at me, but I just want to talk." He says walking closer to her as she began to back away. "Mad at you? Jake, I'm in a good place now and I'm happy. I'm not mad at you. I'm done with you. I told you I wanted nothing to do with you anymore. So please just go." She says in a serious tone. "I miss you, Cass." He says taking her arm. She instantly pulled away "No. You don't get to do this. Please just go now." She begs as she felt tears beginning to well up. Jake stood there and looked at her hoping she would change her mind. "Please go," she says again and he nods slightly as he turned and left.

As soon as he left, Cassie ran to the ladies and began bawling her eyes. "Hey, girl you okay?" Caroline asked as she walked into the bathroom to see Cassie standing at the sink crying. "Yea, that was just my awful ex," Cassie says, throwing water on her face and grabbing a towel to dry off. "Wait, he was here?" Caroline asks surprised. Cassie looked at her and nodded. Caroline and Cassie had gotten close and Cassie had told Caroline the story about her past. "I'm so sorry." She says as she soothingly rubs Cassie's back. "Do you want to go and get some drinks after work and just talk, or not talk?" She asks trying to make Cassie feel better. "No hun. I have the Alberton's case to study. I need to go straight home." "Okay, just promise to call me if you need to talk about anything okay?" Caroline says. Cassie was glad to have someone like Caroline in her life. Although Caroline was 5 years younger than Cassie, she seems much more mature than Cassie ever was at that age.

It was finally the end of the day as Cassie made her way to the parking lot. Her high heels tapped against the ground echoing through the quiet parking space. "Cas." Out of nowhere she hears Jake call. She turns around to see that it was truly him. "What are you still doing here? I asked you to leave me alone. I will call security Jake." She warns. Instead of budging, Jake simply stood there with both hands in his pocket, looking at her. He was scanning her up and down which instantly made Cassie uncomfortable. "You look great Cas. You look really good. Heh, it's like I don't even know you anymore. You've got this whole gorgeous sexy intellect look going on." He says as he walked closer to her. Cassie sneered at his backhanded compliment. It was so typical of him to say something like that.

Instead of responding to him, she began walking toward her car. She could hear his strides and knew he was following her. As she turned to stop him, he grabbed her by the waist slamming her back into a wall next to them and crashed his lips into hers. It took Cassie a good 3 seconds to realize what was happening as she struggled to push him away. Her bag and her folders were now on the ground as she tried to push him away. "Get off of me! What the hell are you doing!" She yells as soon as he pulls away from trying to kiss her. Cassie could feel Jake's hands begin to make their way to her bum as he started placing wet kisses down her neck. "Remember how we use to fight and make up?" He says pulling away and looking into her eyes. She was shocked and confused and couldn't find the words to respond to him. "F**k I miss you, Cassie. I messed up. I know I did. But please." He crashes his lips into hers again trying to force his tongue in. Instead of pushing him any longer, she bit his tongue causing him to flinch "F**k, you bit me." He raises his voice.

"Stay the f**k away from me asshole." She screams with tears in her eyes as she begins collecting her things from off the ground. "All you've ever done was hurt me. You don't deserve me and you know it." She yells at him. "You're right I don't deserve you, I'm a f**king asshole I treated you like shit and you have every right to hate me." He cries. "But I've changed Cassie. I'm not that guy anymore. You made me want to change." He says. "Well, I don't give two shit if you've changed or not. I'm done with you. What part of that don't you get." She yells at him. "I love you, Cassie." He says in desperation. "F**k you, Jake." She replies as she unlocks her car door and gets in. She starts the engine of her car and began crying. She cried not because she missed him but because she was angry with herself for feeling that hate she thought was long gone, come back again.
