Today is the Ganesh sthapna. It's a puja we do couple days before wedding, both bride and groom's family perform this ritual where they start the wedding rituals by placing the Idol of Lord Ganesh on a sacred pedestal which has a heap of rice in the middle of pedestal where the idol is placed.
We pray the Lord for bringing good luck and prosperity to the person's life. In Hindu culture we pray Lord Ganesh first before any auspicious ceremony like marriage. In all marriages, Ganesh Puja signals the start of the rest of the wedding rituals. From decorations to Prasad making, it also involves a lot of preparation. Let's take a detailed look at the rituals and learn why this ceremony is performed.
Ganesh is regarded as the God that removes all kinds of Badhas or obstacles. for the same reason, he is also known as Vighna Vinashak. Therefore, before any wedding ritual can start, the family worships Lord Ganesh, praying for a smooth and obstacle-free wedding. Some people start off the wedding rituals with a stand-alone Ganesh puja, while others might do the puja ceremony during the marriage.
Ganesh is the harbinger of good fortune and thus, every wedding involves his worship. The puja is also offered by the groom on the mandap. He is assisted by the pujari who invokes Ganesh Ji for his blessings and to remove any kind of obstacle in the rituals

Shanaya looked so pretty in her orange lehenga. The puja finished perfectly right in the auspicious time. Shanaya made Modak for offering Lord Ganesha. It's his favorite sweet.

After the puja and offering we went to temple. We as in: Me, Kartik, Shanaya, Laksh, Ishita and Tarun went to the theater to chill. It's been a long time since we went to see a movie with family. Otherwise it's always Kartik, me and kids at home watching a kids friendly movie. I swear to God we know more about cartoon movies than action movies.
Nani and Nanu are at home with kids playing and listening to my embarrassing stories from childhood.

After movie we went back home discussing the scenes all the way back home. It's funny and quite entertaining to watch Naira and Shanaya's indirect gossips. Both of them care about the other but won't talk to each other directly.
On our way we bought some ice cream for the family.
My family has unique taste pallette each of them like a different flavor of ice cream. It is impossible to buy family pack considering this. Everyone except me and Naira are very picky regarding their ice creams.
"Flavors of family. It is so interesting to see what you people have to go through every time wen one of them asks ice cream." Tarun said chuckling experiencing the entertainment on first hand.
"Oh you should see my freezer it has all the flavors. Some times it feels like we've opened an ice cream truck." Naira giggled.
"I'll call Dadi and ask if she needs anything which we can help with." Shanaya said calling Nani.
Laksh was on phone discussing about some case with his friends back home. Ishita and Naira were talking about latest fashion and about Ishita's new line.
Everything was pretty fine until we heard Shanaya squeal in shock "What? Why? Don't worry Dadi we are coming."
We hurriedly reached home tensed by the phone call. I noticed Naira and she was in full on Sherni mode. My wife can be really scary when she wants to be and if you harass her family than you'd wish you didn't even come in the perimeter of her family.
