Naira

It is our wedding anniversary. I am waiting for "Mr Frog" to come home. He had an important interview at the office. I was getting impatient. I have a surprise for him. Something that he has been wishing for.

"Naira, my dear, where have you disappeared to? I've got some truly thrilling news to impart. Can you believe that the guy who came for the interview was an alumnus of my school?" Kartik inquired with a touch of amusement in his voice.

"Kartik, I'm in the kitchen. Please refrain from entering; I have a delightful surprise in store for you. Take a moment to prepare yourself. Your attire is laid out on the bed. Let's meet in the garden within the next 30 minutes," I explained, ensuring he didn't inadvertently stumble upon my surprise.

As Kartik heard my mysterious words, I could see the curiosity in his eyes. His attire on the bed and my mention of preparation had piqued his interest, and I couldn't wait to reveal my surprise to him.

"Alright, Naira, you've got my attention. I'll be in the garden in 30 minutes, as you wish," he responded with an air of excitement.

My heart raced as I continued to put the finishing touches on my surprise. I had been planning this moment for weeks, wanting to make it unforgettable. I slipped into a beautiful white gown that accentuated my radiant glow and held a small gift box in my hand.

As we both gathered in the garden, the soft evening breeze carried with it the scent of jasmine. Kartik looked astounded to see me, and his eyes widened as I handed him the gift box. "Open this, Kartik," I said, a mischievous smile playing on my lips.

Carefully, he unwrapped the box to find a pair of tiny baby booties. I watched as his eyes welled up with tears, and I felt my own eyes fill with tears of happiness. His voice trembled with emotion as he spoke, "Naira, are you saying...?"

I nodded, my own eyes glistening with tears. "Yes, Kartik. We're going to be parents. We're expecting a baby." I placed a gentle hand on my belly to emphasize the point.

Kartik couldn't contain his excitement any longer. He swept me into his arms, lifting me off the ground and spinning me around. We both laughed together, our hearts filled with love and anticipation for the new chapter in our lives.

As we settled back down, Kartik looked at me with a beaming smile, "This is the best surprise I could ever imagine, Naira. Our future just got a lot brighter, and I can't wait to be a father."

I beamed back at him, my heart overflowing with happiness. "And I can't wait to be a mother, Kartik. We're going to create the most amazing family together, full of love and happiness."

We sat in the garden, holding each other, talking about our dreams for our child and the life we would build as a family. It was a moment of pure bliss, a celebration of our love and the beautiful journey we were about to embark on together.

As Naira shared the news of our impending parenthood, a whirlwind of emotions coursed through me. Excitement surged as I realized I was going to be a father, but it was accompanied by a nervousness that knotted my stomach. I had always wanted children, but the responsibility felt immense.

In the midst of my joy, there was a persistent worry for Naira's health. A couple of years back, we had faced a major health scare, and the memory of that difficult time still haunted me. I knew I needed to be strong for both of us, especially for Naira, who was carrying our precious child.

That night, as I lay in bed, my thoughts were consumed by a mix of emotions. I was thrilled about becoming a father and the love that would soon fill our home, but the responsibility and my concern for Naira's well-being kept me awake. I couldn't help but wonder how I could protect and support them both in the best way possible.

The next morning,

"Good morning, Fiore." I said adoring my sweetheart and pecked her forehead.

"Good morning, soon to be Daddy." She wished me back pouting for one more peck.

As we sat at the cafe, I couldn't help but feel a surge of relief when Naira expressed her excitement about the journey ahead.

She turned to me, her eyes filled with happiness, and said, "Kartik, I can't wait to become a mother. I've dreamt about this moment for so long, and I'm grateful that I get to experience it with you."

I smiled at her, my heart swelling with love. "Naira, I feel the same way. I might have been nervous, but I'm also incredibly excited about this new chapter in our lives. You've made me the happiest man in the world."

After breakfast, we headed to the hospital for Naira's first pregnancy checkup. In the doctor's office, I watched Naira nervously as the doctor began the examination.

The moment the doctor mentioned a blood test, I couldn't hide my fear.

Naira chuckled and said, "Kartik, it's just a little blood test. You'll be fine."

I shifted uncomfortably in my chair, avoiding eye contact with the needle. "I know, but I've always been scared of needles. And hospitals, for that matter."

The doctor, a kind and understanding woman, smiled and said, "Don't worry, Kartik. I promise this will be quick and painless."

Naira held my hand, offering me support, as the nurse prepared for the blood test. I winced and looked away, trying not to think about the needle. Naira couldn't help but laugh at my reaction.

Once the blood test was over, I let out a sigh of relief. Naira teased me, "You're going to be a father, Kartik. You need to be brave for both of us."

I nodded, still feeling a little embarrassed, but I was glad I could make Naira smile. We left the doctor's office, and while my fear of hospitals and needles hadn't entirely vanished, I knew I would do whatever it took to ensure Naira and our baby were healthy and happy.
