Chapter 19

     I glanced at the five kids before me. They were awfully spunky for kids who were told on how many years they had left. I guess they wanted to live the rest of their lives to the fullest. I walked up to my desk and found the roll book.

      "Okay, I'm going to call the roll." I told them as I flipped open the book in one hand. "Kenya Misaki."

      Silence.

      "Ryota Sekiguchi."

     Silence.

     "Gale Gibson."

     Silence once again.

     "Alice Rondo."

     Silence once more.

     "Chloe Aubert."

     Silence for the final time.

     "Well, looks like you're all here." I snapped the book shut. "All right, now, listen up...When your name is called, respond loudly and clearly." I set the book down and looked at my students. "Right, right. I understand. Okay, I'm going to call in a friend of mine."

     My shadow lengthened telling me that Ranga was hovering in shadow form over the children. I smirked as I open the book again.

     "Let's try that again." I smiled. "Kenya Misaki."

     "Here!" Kenya screamed.

     "Ryota Sekiguchi."

     "Here!" Ryota meekly said.

     "Gale Gibson."

     "Here!" He shouted.

     "Alice Rondo."

     "Here!" She yelled.

     "Chloe Aubert."

     "Here..." She said.

     "Okay, very good." I smiled as I snapped the book shut once more. Ranga was in his full form hovering in the back, overlooking the children. 

     "Hey! Threatening us with this gaint dog is dirty!" Kenya hissed.

     "Oh dear, Ranga is a Taisho Wolf. You want to see a big dog you should see my Demon mate Sesshomaru. He's bigger than this school." I chuckled. Ranga then licked Kenya, who looked like he was going to have a heart attack.

     "I am Ranga. Nice to meet you, kid." Ranga greeted the drooly child.

     "Fine, I get it!" Kenya yelled. I chuckled.

     "Looks like you're good friends already." I smiled. "That's great." I cleared my throat. "So, I'm Kagome and I'll be your teacher starting today. I'm not as nice as Shizu. Just keep that in mind." I smirked, which was the truth. I wasn't going to be easy on these kids. I was going to treat them like I would treat Rin and Shippo. "What? No response?" I placed a hand to my ear. Ranga growled.

      "Yes, ma'am!" They shouted. I sighed as I looked to them. It wasn't going to be easy to gain their trust.

      "Okay! Are you all ready for a test?" I asked them.

      "Hey! Why do we have to do that?" Alice yelled.

     "I hate tests." Chloe mumbled. Kenya pretend to choke himself to death.

     "It's too soon for a test! I demand an explanation!" Gale raided his hand.

     "Yeah! Explain this!" Alice demanded.
