Once we got into the festival, we looked around. I could see many of my citizens looking at me with knowing smirks. I blushed even harder at this. I looked up at Carrion, wondering what was going on through that head of his.
"So what did you want to do first?" I asked him.
"Hmm. I suggest we get something to eat for you and the little ones. We don't want you guys to starve, do we?" He smiled down at me, making me blush even harder. "Oh, you're red. Are you embarrassed?"
"As if." I scoffed, but I could feel my ears warm a little bit as the blush went from my face to them.
He chuckled as he gently placed me down on my feet. He wanted me to choose what we should eat. There were many delicacies in my nation that were unique to here. He wanted to get to know more about this place. Whenever I can, I would make sure to visit his kingdom as well so I could check it out.
"Hmm. What are you feeling right now? Sweet, spicy, savory?" I looked up at him.
"Surprise me." He ruffled my hair. I playfully smacked his hand away before I thought about what I should eat first.
"Hmm." I mused as I looked around at the many food stalls that were spaced out. "Ah." I spotted at yakisoba stall not too far from us.
I wrapped my arms around his muscular arm and pulled forward. He chuckled at my attempt but he followed me anyway. We walked to the stall that one of the goblin chefs were at. He smiled up at us when we arrived.
"My lady." He greeted. "Welcome."
"Thank you for having us." I smiled. "We will take two orders to go. One pork and one beef please."
"Coming right up my lady and master." The goblin chef smiled before quickly going to work.
Carrion and I watched him work his magic as he started to make the yakisoba. Carrion found it fascinating and I could see a hint of drool forming.
"What is this?" Carrion asked.
"Yakisoba." I grinned. "It's noodles stir-fried with cabbage, pork, chicken or beef, carrots, and a few slices of pickled ginger. Ao nori, or dried green seaweed, is often sprinkled on top. It has a tinge of yakisoba sauce and Japanese mayonnaise make it juicier." I bragged. This was one of my many accomplishments in my kingdom.
"Sounds yummy." Carrion smiled, obviously couldn't wait to eat.
Soon we had two steaming carry outs with chopsticks in hand along with their complimentary drinks. I paid for it before we walked over to a small picnic table and sat down to eat. I handed Carrion the beef one, since he looked like he like beef more. His eyes gleamed with happiness as he gently took it from my hands.
"Thank you." He warmly smiled. He then opened the container along with me and got ready to use the chopsticks. He looked like he was having a difficult time using them, which I found adorable. I softly chuckled, making him blush like crazy as he twirled the noodles around the chopsticks. Sadly, it didn't even stay put. I took a wooden fork from the shop extras, then handed it to Carrion. "Thank you again." He blushed.
"No problem." I smiled as I used my chopsticks with ease and ate the yakisoba. I squealed with happiness as I placed a hand to my cheeks. "Delicious!" I cooed.
Carrion twirled the fork around the noodles and then stuffed a generous amount in his mouth. His eyes sparkled as he glanced down at his food. A smiled tugged at his lips.
