Ranga ran with us upon his back We made it within a day thanks to his speed. We were now staring at a giant stone door. I was assuming that this was the entrance to the Dwelling. I looked to my students.

"Are you guys ready for this?" I asked them. "Once we go in, we may never come out."

"Of course I'm ready!" Kenya stuttered.

     "Yes." Gale smiled.

     "I'm fine." Ryota agreed.

"I-I'm not scared at all!" Alice said with a trembling voice. Chloe walked up and gently clasped the sleeve of my kimono. She gave a firm nod, though she was terrified. I smiled down at all of them, patting their heads in reassurance. I then looked to Ranga.

"Ranga, if anything happens, take care of them." I ordered.

"Your students are my students, Kagome." Ranga nodded. "I'll protect them with my life!" He wagged his tail.

"Good." I nodded as I turned around and looked at the door. "Let's go."

I touched the door and it magically opened. I arched a brow at this. I had a bad feeling about this. I went in first, the kids slowly following behind me. It was nothing but a straight path of archways.

"It's just a straight path." Kenya looked around.

"What the heck? For a labyrinth, this looks easy!" Alice yelled, her voice echoing in the space.

"B-But something seems weird about it." Ryota said. I continued to lead the group, keeping a firm eye out for anything that could pose a threat.

"Whatever you do, don't wander away from the group." I told them.

"Right!" They all shouted back. It may look like a straight path, but there were traps meant to confuse your sense of direction all over the place. With human sense of direction, we might end up unable to either move forward or go back. I was really glad I had a mental map. A small chuckle made me stop in my tracks.

I placed my hand up, making our group stop its advancement. I glanced around, looking for where that chuckle came from. Suddenly there were more joining in with the first chuckle. They were coming from all different directions.

"What are those voices? Where are they coming from?" Kenya asked.

"It sounds like they're resonating inside our heads." Gale stated.

Powerful thought transference... not telepathy? I mused.

"Not very amusing, visitors." The voice said. "Be more afraid! Feel more fear!"

"You're going to have to better than that with me." I scoffed. Naraku was ten times more frightening than this. The girls gasped and hid behind me.

"Good, good! It's no fun for me if you show no fear!" The voice said. I sighed.

"Are you the spirit who lives here?" I asked it. "We need to talk to some superior spirits. If possible, could you take us to them without impeding us?"

The voice laughed. It was now sounding like a girl. "What an amusing thing to say!" It sounded like she smirked. "Of course, of course. I'll tell you."

"Oh?!" I arched a brow. "That was easier than I expected."

      "But before that..."

     "Before that?"
