As I ran back to the house, I tried to think of where to go.
Crying on Vince's lap would only do more harm than good since he's trying to get back together with the lady there.
I also had no idea when Ron would be back from his walk with MaryAnne.
So I ended up going to the bench where I usually drank with Ron. I tried to process everything around me for a moment, but, still enraged, I had another idea.
I searched for our assistant and asked.
"How can I buy stuff at the groceries store?"
"Just tell me what you need."
"It's ok. I prefer to go and get it myself."
"Sure, I can ask the driver to take you."
"Perfect. But... how would I pay for it?"
She gave it a thought, and...
"Stay here." She said, leaving and then coming back with some money in hand. "Here. While you sort out any banking details with Cesar, you can use it from the 'kitchen jar.'"
"Lilly!" I heard Cesar call.
I hastily took the money from the assistant's hand and asked:
"Please ask the driver to take me right away."
"Sure thing."
As I hurried to the front door, Cesar caught up with me.
"Lilian, please wait, I..."
I stopped and answered with the utmost naturalness.
"I need to run some errands. We can talk when I get back."
"Errands? What errands?"
Cesar looked confused. The driver pulled up while he tried to understand, and I got into the car.
The driver took me to a local supermarket, where they usually bought things for the house.
I went straight to the insecticide department. It didn't take me long to find what I was looking for: poison.
I bought a bottle and went home happy. Then, I took the bottle to my room, staying there until the next day.
