It was late. Everyone was already in bed except for Lilly, who was savoring a glass of whisky in Cesar's old office. She didn't even like whisky, but for some reason, the atmosphere made her want to relish every drop. Her mood was interrupted by the assistant, who came to inform her that Cesar was at the door. Lilly gestured for him to come in, deciding to wait right there, in the same place and pose. She thought it would be funny for him to find her just like that.
Lilly thought she heard several footsteps. She was about to get up and investigate when Cesar entered the office. Without saying a word, he went to her side and extended his hand.
"What's going on?" she asked.
"Come," he replied.
Lilly didn't understand, but she knew she soon would. When she got up, Cesar grabbed her arm, hurrying her.
As they left the office, Lilly noticed several men climbing the stairs. She decided to speak up.
"There's no need to drag me like that. I can walk."
"Not fast enough," Cesar replied.
He led her to a car parked out front.
"Get in."
"Where are we going?"
"Just get in already!" he insisted, and she complied, understanding that she was probably in great danger and that Cesar was saving her from something. As soon as she got inside, Cesar closed the door, and the driver sped off. Lilly saw Cesar getting into another car and believed he would follow her.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a man who put handcuffs on her hands.
"What are these for?" she asked, and then the man covered her head with a black hood. "What's going on?!" Lilly asked, scared.
"Be quiet," said the man sitting in the back seat with her.
The car drove for a few minutes, which felt endless to Lilly. She could tell by the lights that they were in the city. She tried to stay calm, believing that Cesar had a plan. If all this somehow was Les's doing, this time she would use everything she had learned to teach him a lesson.
The car was speeding when a violent collision hit them. It all happened quickly. Lilly hit her head on something but not hard enough to knock her out. She heard the door open and felt a hand pull her by the arm.
"Come, quick."
She got out of the car and, still hooded, followed the command. They stopped, and the same man spoke.
"Get in, the car is right in front of you," and he placed his hand on her head, guiding her into the car.
As soon as she got in, he joined her in the back seat. Soon, the new car started moving. They heard gunshots, so the man asked her to duck. It seemed the car evaded the shots and continued to another place not far away. The car stopped, and the man helped her out, guiding her through a building. Inside a room, he indicated a chair for her to sit on. She could hear background music, as if they were in the back room of a club.
"Don't worry. He'll be here soon."
"Who?"
"You'll see."
Lilly waited for what seemed like an eternity. Then the door opened, and she recognized the voice.
"Hey," she heard Jase greet the man watching over her. "Got her wearing face covers, shackles... the whole deal, huh? Geez..."
He took off the hood.
"Hey, Lilly."
"What's going on?"
