Despite everything, Joe and I still didn't share the same room. He returned to his old room as Chaos, and I stayed in the one that was decorated specifically for me. But with rare exceptions, we always ended up sleeping together in either my room or his. Last night, I slept in his room. Being in Joe's arms was nice; always warm.

The next day, Vince called, asking me to come over to his house. Since he used few words, I assumed it was about Cesar. On my way out, Rony approached me.

"Are you leaving?"

"I'm going to Vince's."

"Does Jase know?"

"No. Vince just called, and I didn't see Jase around."

"Lilly..." said Rony, getting my attention.

"What?"

He took a breath. "You need to think about these things. I mean... Are you really prepared for what you're going to face?"

"I don't know, but he's waiting for me. He asked me to hurry."

"I don't think you should go," he said, catching my attention. "Not today... not yet."

"Why not?"

"Why? Poodle! Let's say it's still too early," he replied mockingly.

"I think it's about Cesar."

"I know."

"Vince seems to have a plan."

"Vince is obsessed with something else." After a brief pause, he continued, "Look... you know I love you, right?"

"Right."

"Do you really know?"

"I do."

"As much as I love you, do you really think I would just abandon him?"

He was talking about Cesar. It wasn't hard to come to a conclusion.

"No. I know you wouldn't abandon him."

"Then let me take care of it." I was a bit thoughtful, so he continued, "We're not abandoning him, we're just going to proceed in a smarter way."

With that, he convinced me, and I informed Vince that I wouldn't be going.

Later, I was in my room when I heard a knock on the door. When the person entered, I was surprised.

"Vin?!"

"If Mohammed won't go to the mountain..."

"Is he here?"

"No, I just dropped him off at Shannon's. What are you doing?"

"Nothing really, I was about to..."

Then he came closer as if to kiss me. I turned away and asked, "What are you doing?"

"We always kiss at my place. It's time to kiss in a new place."

I heard footsteps in the hallway and pulled away, reprimanding him, "No, there are people here," I whispered.

Vince stretched to see who it was and came back, trying to reassure me. "It's just that guy, the... catastrophe. Now, where were we?" he said, coming closer for a kiss.

In those split seconds, I tried to think of how to explain that Joe was my husband, but with everything that happened, I couldn't find the right words and ended up being kissed by Vin. As I kissed him, I thought that I had attacked him so many times at his place that it seemed fair to accept an "attack" from him here.
