The air smelled so fresh, the grass was green and the flowers bloomed in all colors, shape and form. The sky was a beautiful, welcoming blue and the clouds looked good enough to eat. He heard a portal opening behind him and he spun about. A group of no lesser than 20 stepped and breathed in the fresh air just as he had done - until they saw the red-sweater wearing Watcher. They became all defensive and were frantically looking for weapons while one of them eyed him curiously.

"Calm down," he said, his voice muffled by the helmet "It's just a Watcher, he won't harm us." Grian was confused. What did this green-clad man mean? It was as if Watchers were good or something. A few of them calmed down but one of them seemed oddly tensed. He was a creeper hybrid whose human parts were robotic. "I think he must leave." stated the hybrid in a clear and final sort of way, making it obvious he wasn't going to talk on the matter.

"I-I can't leave!" sputtered out Grian as soon as the cyborg had said this "D-don't m-make me g-go back!" The one with green armor just like Xenia's except it was - well - green. "Xisuma," he whispered but X heard. "How do you know my name?" asked Xisuma curiously. Suddenly the feeling of hate rose up. Something told Grian 'No, he is not what they say. He didn't escape them.' It was that voice which had whispered to him during the battle. The battle with Sam. For the first time in his life, he realized who the voice was.

His mother.

It must have been, no other voice held this kind of sympathy. No other held this love. It was before his mother's death that he had felt close with Zena. But if these were her plans all along, why did he have such a close relationship with her? Something wasn't right. At the moment, he had to focus on the fact that Xisuma, the only Watcher to ever escape Watchers would be fine with them - it made no sense.

"We could take you in," contemplated X. Grian was starting to like Xisuma, he seemed kind. His scars seemed nonexistent as the feeling of being home washed over him like a tidal wave. A second later he realized with a pang in his heart that Xisuma was the person to be killed. 'I could offer myself instead.' he thought.

"Xisuma," said Grian in a low whisper "Can you put up a barrier, making this place Watcher-proof?" Xisuma looked confused and in reply to this Grian said "I'll tell you later." Xisuma shrugged and mumbled "We could..." Grian smiled gratefully because the Watchers couldn't get through to the server anymore. At least not for a long time. The hybrid spoke again "I still think he should leave, he came here without an invite of any sort." Xisuma sighed "Doc, he's a Watcher, he can stay," to Doc's questioning looks he said "Fine. We'll vote on it. Who wants to keep this Watcher here?"

More than half of the hands went up and Doc looked slightly annoyed. He growled but no one heard it. "Alright," said X, putting his hands on his hip "That's final. Grian's staying." Grian was surprised Xisuma knew his name but that was before he remembered Watchers could read minds. He then wondered why Zena never did that. Must've been the stupidity that comes with being evil.

He'd only felt this at home at Evo but then, Evo was gone. It still worked out for Grian though. He reminded himself that he had to tell Xisuma about what happened to the Watchers and he also thought to bring up Xenia. He felt great.

He was the newest Hermit. Nothing could go wrong, could it?

I decided to give you guys a small break from all the angst but don't worry, angst lovers, yes, I see you there in the background, I see you - there will be more angst. I hope y'all liked this chapter and I'm tired.
